Hi,
I am thinking to make the following:

10% in PIMCO type funds
30% in EU PP
10% in VP - LAZY portfolio
What you experts think about this group?
Thank you all!

Re: Euro HB Permanent Portfolio using ETFs
Hi T, Comparing the US PP with the EU PP, you find that the US PP is a bit expensive now, while the EU PP represents reasonable value at this moment. I like to add money to the PP after a downward move below the trendline, like March 2011 for the EU-PP. For an US investor it seems to be a 'good' ti...

Re: Cash in EUROPE
It works fine for all PP's really. The LGB is just for reducing the volatility. Actual returns over the extreme long term is pretty much the same. It goes to show that the LT bond market is actually pricing the cash-flow risks pretty well. Isn't that funny? We typically think of cash as the vola...

Re: EUROPEAN PP family
Keep in mind that financial guaranteed from governments that can't print dollars are actually guarantees to raise taxes or beg for foreign aid with strings attached when they inevitably mismanage things and come up short. As AdamA said, there's a reason those rates are so high. I took a look at por...

Re: Making Variable Portfolio complementary to Permanent Portfolio
I like REITs, muni bonds (VPAIX) and VCIT (corp bonds) in my VP. First: Living in Europe we should make hedge to these type of international ETF's ? This to avoid currency risk, or it has not so much influence in the end results. Second: what is your opinion about the following for VP: REIT ...

The market certainly feels that German Bunds are safe. German Bund yields are actually lower than US Treasury yields right now. Germany Bund 2 Year Yield -0.03% Germany Bund 5 Year Yield 0.35% Germany Bund 10 Year Yield 1.33% Germany Bund 30 Year Yield 2.25% vs... US Treasury 2 Year Yield 0.24% US ...

Anyone of you has the monthly turnover of the European PP over the last decades? I only find yearly charts. Re: Chances of losing (and winning!) are close to zero.
Dear PP users, This is a good discussion but as we can't control inflation, we have to work with what we control. I am still searching strategies, and up to now, I couldn't find a better risk/performance asset alocation. I think I will mix European Permanent Portfolio + US lazy portfolio as variable...

If I have a CD cash deposit in a home country bank, that has more than 25% of my portfolio, do I need to have more CASH in this foreign country (German) ?

Re: Leveraged PP?
I second everything that Pointedstick just said. There is leverage embedded in the market closer to the risk-free rate than you will be able to get on your own. Grab that first before turning to margin. 1) Remove Cash 2) Use 30 year STRIPs 3) Use SCV and EM for equities None of this is a financial ...

Re: Leveraged PP?
I understand you guys that avoid leverage but I understand better the position of Gary. When you have an edge on a PP system you can use leverage up to a point depending on the historical DD of the PP system. You pay 2% interest to the broker, but you hope to win 8% in the longrun, correct? It is t...

Re: Leveraged PP?
I used to lambast margin until I actually tried it. I use it for my income portfolio, which is a relatively conservative portfolio. My monthly dividends exceed my monthly margin costs by just enough to make it worthwhile. With PP, there is no monthly income (and miniscule income overall) and no...

Re: Leveraged PP?
Hi,
as the PP has a small risk, with small yearly drawdowns, why shouldn't we use 2x leverage?
Everything would double:
Average return = 16%
Drawdown = 10%
Waiting your comments I remain.
Thank you.
