Maddy I thought you were single too! I can understand why you are concerned about civil unrest, but...what's the connection to the census? Now you guys have me feeling really bad. It was all in jest. Answering census questions about the number of people living in your home, as well as their ages an...

My view of the census: It'll be a cold day in Hell before I volunteer information about my household's demographics given the very real possibility of civil unrest. By the way, did I ever mention that my husband is a former marine with PTSD?

Re: Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories
She's never seen anything like it. She describes it as too new, and too perfect. And too perfect in relation not only to the failed succession of attempts to unseat the president, but to the upcoming election. Run the probabilities on that! Oh, and in today's news it's being reported that a number ...

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
I never did much in the area of family law, but the experience I did have over the course of several decades in a litigation firm left me convinced that the men of this forum are right. The legal system is horribly biased in favor of women. It's as if you enter a courtroom and suddenly everything re...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
As the cases increase exponentially, it's becoming all the more clear that the vast majority of folks who have serious complications have co-morbidities. In the Seattle study, for which the data cut-off was 3/23, a full 50% had Type 2 diabetes. So is this a public health emergency or a stepped-up da...

Re: Is Denninger right about the coronavirus?
I have no idea what any of those google groups are talking about, or what they have to do with Denninger or his views on the CoVid-19 situation. They sound like a bunch of kooks, disgruntled over something--though it's impossible to tell what.

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
A lot of people outside government make a lot of sense. My question still is, these ideas work great on a blog on the internet. How do you translate that into the same action at a government level? For Denninger, whether it is CV, or debt, or actually anything, he's got his solutions. And berates e...

To all of you, what would you have had the government do? Seriously, give me something here that wouldn't have caused hysteria and panic regardless. Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
The crazy thing is that we've been here before. The medical ethicist Henry Caplan made an entire career out of the subject of rationing, convincing us that we needed a centralized top-down medical system to make the lofty life-and-death decisions that the reality of rationing would entail. Unfortuna...

So what if the hospitals are overwhelmed? So what if there aren't enough ventilators for the small, overwhelmingly co-morbid population who needs them, when we know that as many as 98 percent of those who end up on vents are going to die anyway? Why do the powers-that-be continue to pretend that med...

That was only the first listing I saw. I presume that shipping times vary greatly depending on where the item is coming from. And if some predictions bear out, we've only begun to see the fallout of supply chain disruptions. Anyway, it's a resource.
