Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

As Gov Cuomo and his extensive PR team attempt to “reimagine” his response to COVID-19, here’s a Twitter thread to remind everyone what an epic fail it really was.

Re: SomethingGate

This story has been going on and information has been trickling out for 3+ years, it’s not anything new. It’s just been ignored by most of the media.

What has changed recently is that we’re finally getting to see some of the damning evidence.

Re: Has it ever changed your life?

I just think that 30 years ago, most people didn't care too much about politics. I did, and probably many of you did. But my typical bowling league buddies, not as much as today. Everyone had opinions, but it wasn't such a big deal. Everyone today is really into it. Government is not supposed to me...

Re: Has it ever changed your life?

The increasing division in the US correlates with the rise of social media and the increasing ease of sharing information (and disinformation). Related to the health/nutrition conversation, should large and powerful companies be allowed to serve people information and interactions that create addict...

Re: Trump has Covid-19

A few humble "We are doing what we think is right but we really don't know and things may change" statements could have gone a long way. Do you honestly believe that "the media" and Trump's wide variety of political opponents (not to mention yourself) would have accepted anythin...

Ejc_tyzXkAAfDGE.jpg Hilarious that articles cover photo is of Trump hard at word signing blank pieces of paper. Maybe he was just making sure the pen worked. Maybe you can't see the text on the page because the paper is over exposed. What little we can see doesn't even look like his signature. i fo...

By the way, you can buy all five of the author's books for $5.00 each (or, in one case, for only $2.99). I just bought all 5 books for $22.99 total. No taxes. By the way, why are there no taxes on Kindle books while there are other books and downloaded software? Vinny When you buy a Kindle book, yo...

Please comment on the white supremacists stand back and stand by comment. Couldn’t give a straight answer yes, I condemn. I thought about this question a lot today. Apparently Scott Adams did, too, because on his latest podcast he said Trump has temporarily lost his vote by failing to clearly state...

Anyone spent anytime in the upper peninsula of Michigan or far northern reaches of northeast? Any areas stand out as affordable with decent job market? I read an article quite a while back about a fellow who was planning to change his medical plans at age 75. At that point, nothing which is intended to prolong life. Yes, treatment for a broken arm or for discomfort or dental stuff or whatever. But no heart bypasses, stents, no CPR, and I think eve...

Re: Ruth Bader Ginsburg

There seems to be a presumption that any vote for a SCOTUS appointee will fall strictly along party lines. Maybe it will, but if so, it is an example of the normalized deviancy of polarized partisanship, which has not historically been the case with appointees, contrary to what McConnell's nostalgi...

Harry Reid lied about Mitt Romney’s taxes in the 2012 election. All it takes is an accusation and the media takes it from there. Credibility not required. The damage can’t be undone in a timely manner if at all.

For example, if you're just using your internet provider's WiFi router, there's a good chance you can do better. Re: Is Trump doing a good job?

The media response has more to do with the fact that Trump is an outsider not from the established political class than whether he’s a Republican or Democrat. The UniParty establishment doesn’t care if you’re R or D as long as you’re willing to play their game. Trump’s not playing their game (any mo...

This year I’ll have to stay up and watch the returns. Last time I didn’t want to see Hillary’s win so I just went to bed. I guess I missed some fun TV. In 1976 I was in 5th grade and stayed up with my dad to watch the election returns. It was a late night when Carter was declared the winner. I’ve s...
