Re: Let's Discuss Non-Citizens Voting Rights
One thing that I wish I had in last election. When you vote, you get a confirmation number for your vote. You can then input online and see your selections without any personally identifying information. That at least helps you know your vote counted and wasn't flipped by the counting machine. You c...

Re: Colorado Grocery Store Mass Shooter
All black guns that look kind of scary, like I could picture a soldier carrying one, should be illegal for civilians to own. Civilian guns should be made with non-threatening colors and patterns, the stocks should be made of wood or at least look like wood, and the overall appearance of the gun sho...

So Israel cases are dropping a lot. Still hard to tell if it is from vaccine.
Surely we would have heard if vaccinated are still getting the disease. Right?

Conspiracy theory is they can use it for negative interest rates.
Good thing I can think is 1st amendment protected banking.
Wasn't Trump recently kicked from some banks?
Banks are also kicking gun makers and shops.

Biden tests Army's latest sniper rifle.

Who cares if Biden hurts feelings with his manly actions.
Don't take him literally. We need him to be strong and manly to deter our enemies.

GBTC down 6%...any takers or is this just a little blip? I won't buy more until low 20s but will sell half of what I have if it gets to 80. Bitcoin is a new asset class. "Decentralized alternating pyramid scheme" DAPS for short. You never know which way the pyramid will go. Built in featu...

Is there a lot of violence happening? I really haven't seen too much about it.
Brief glimpse of video kind of made me think of modern day woodstock.
Problem is information travels so quick these days. The crowds get bigger quicker.
Big crowds always going to be public safety nightmare.

Ice cream.
The more milk fat the better.
I don't want any of the "frozen dairy dessert" with almost no milk fat. It is a creation of milk fat inflation.

I don't use this service but it looks like you can jump through some hoops to get 3% on up to 100k in FDIC checking/savings: https://www.hmbradley.com/ I think it has been around for a few years at this rate. I am always hesitant to jump into those rewards checking/savings because they can drop rate...

Re: Schemes for maximizing cash returns
A whole lot more low tech here. I gave up on LTT when 10 year FDIC CDs were higher interest rate. They were at 3% at the time. At that point I considered myself 50% intermediate term bullet instead of the barbell. Now I am maxing out EE bonds each year to get the 3.5% while you still can. I also con...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
The hardest thing to flip for masks in stores is going to be allowing the employees to not wear masks. Hopefully eventually it is acceptable to not wear a mask if you are vaccinated. Then everyone can just stop wearing a mask. No way to prove someone hasn't been vaccinated with HIPAA laws hopefully....

Re: Bitcoin as a complement or alternative to gold in the PP
I agree completely with ahhrunforthehills. And I have been downright mad about the absurdity of Bitcoin because I missed out on such outlandish returns. If I would have put in $1000 when I knew about it at $100 per bitcoin or whatever it was at the time. Think about what you will lose if you put 1% ...

Tripping going up steep airplane stairs is so low on my concerns. I actually think he recovered quite well. I can imagine that happening to even a 20 year old. I feel like this is more of a distraction from the real bad things he is doing. Don't look at the horrible international policies, look at t...

Re: Bitcoin as a complement or alternative to gold in the PP
I think others have stated here that Bitcoin is more like a growth stock and I think that is more accurate. One thing I can think that will make it more like gold is if you were trying to flee with capital and you thought you could get it across borders. Maybe it is just my personal sentiment but I ...

Are people being criminally charged in our country for not wearing a mask?
If so, are there any cases going up through courts?
I am thankfully in a place where I only wear a mask for hair cuts.
I assume I might have been arrested in some places in this country.

Re: Bitcoin as a complement or alternative to gold in the PP
I have been one of the biggest Bitcoin haters since I found out about it. This thread is probably what finally tipped me over to participate and I still don't hold it directly because I don't trust myself with it yet. I don't see anything beating bitcoin yet for pure price growth just because it was...
