Re: European inflation-linked bonds?
And there are indeed TIPS/ IL Bonds for the EU. For example: iShares € Inflation Linked Govt Bond UCITS ETF This is good news to me. The ISIN is IE00B0M62X26 and my broker (DEGIRO) does not charge costs when trading. The underlying assets aren't super great, though. France might be okay, but the re...

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
What I find funny, is that people are no longer hide they have gold in their portfolio. For example on Reddit, posters used to be silent about it. No longer so.

That reminds me, I should really rebalance. I've got 25% in cash, 25% in stocks, 25% in bonds and 40% in gold

European inflation-linked bonds?
I just read an interview with Russell Napier, a Scotsman who writes about the market for institutional investors: https://themarket.ch/interview/russell-napier-central-banks-have-become-irrelevant-ld.2323 The following bit caught my attention: As an investor, how do I protect myself? European inflat...

It's just an insult. You know what you do? You dig your heels in and fire off a clever comeback. You don't cry to the world just because you failed to think of one. That's just your opinion. I've been at the receiving end of an endless stream of cleverly "funny" disguised verbal abuse from a cowork...

Bizarre. Maybe I hit my free article limit or something... Here's text versions: https://pastebin.com/tFitph7g https://pastebin.com/ANtsLt0X By the way, I didn't quite get this bit: What surprised me was that gold shares comfortably outgained gold bullion. As illustrated in the initial graph, Fidel...

Of all the cryptos, only Bitcoin really has my trust, and only for a single-digit percentage of my variable portfolio. There are interesting coins out there, like Monero, which is 100% focused on privacy. But that's really it (for me, at least). You were wise to decline the offers of this guy.

It would be interesting to know how they test these coins for purity. I believe there are several methods and they're not accurate all the time.

Re: Illinois Will Be The Poster Case For State Bankruptcy
What's weird is that munis aren't unlike European state bonds. Just like an individual European country, an American state can't print themselves more money to get out of a high debt situation.

Memorable quote on page 7: Truth hurts. Maybe not as much as jumping on a bicycle with the seat missing, but it hurts. Inspector Frank Drebin It's not a bone-dry paper, they did their best to keep it readable with a joke in the sideline here and there. This is my first crisis with a lot (for me) of ...

Re: Warren Buffet goes nuts and exposes the fraud that is the USA
This is no secret and everybody who buys these treasuries knows this. The US isn't unique in this regard. There are multiple countries for whom the debt-to-GDP ratio is overboard. Here in Europe we have France and Italy. Japan also has gone nuts. It's the reason, as I understand it, why they all lov...

Re: Simple 4 ETF PP
I run it with three ETFs, personally. I have replaced the t-bills part with real cash, meaning a savings account. I don't see anything wrong with that, and I'm surprised that you'd say "only 4 ETFs".
Isn't that the beauty of the PP, its simplicity?

Re: What Does Life Look Like For You Now?
I live in one of the European countries that doesn't have a strict quarantine, but has instated a mild lockdown. So weirdly enough, my life hasn't been all that different. I'm a freelancer who was already working out of my own office for half of the week. The other half of the week, I'd occupy a des...

If Mac, I'd steer clear of the 13" MacBook Pro until updated with a better Keyboard (rumors say this year soonish). (no direct experience, but LOTS of online complaints about the keyboard. I do have experience with those keyboards, and I can tell you: it's going to annoy you. If you are going to bu...

Not worth posting, really. It's just that if asked, you give the advice to include a little gold to a beginner's portfolio, you're bound to get down votes on Reddit.
