Re: The Permanent Supplement Regime

Good on you Maddie! Here's a substitute for your English muffin: microwave mug bread. Melt 1 Tbsp butter or bacon fat in a mug. Add 1 Tbsp coconut flour, 1/4 tsp baking soda, a pinch of salt, and a dollop of heavy cream (maybe a tablespoon?). Mix together, then crack in an egg and mix well. Optiona...

It’s a limit that’s put on rates.

He's got a pretty hands-off approach, but I can think of three things off the top of my head: First would be that he protects the subsidiary company's management from Wall Street pressure for quarterly results and short-term expectations. Second, he can take cash from one business and put it into an...

I have an explicit allocation to emerging markets, but this idea hasn't really occurred to me.

I don't hold any special insight here, but I am subbed.

The Buffett Empire Visualized

A cool infographic that lays out visually the entire Buffett empire. It's a few years old but perfectly valid. I thought this was sooooo cool. I've attached it here but viewing it locally on your machine may be best so you can zoom and pan. Here's a link to the original. https://www.visualcapitalist...

Re: Member requests banning and removal of all traces

It's a difficult balance to strike, but the BH forum is a popular place that banned political discussion for a reason. There's an old saying about friends wanting to stay friends not discussing politics or religion. This forum is quite rife with both. I understand the contention. A compromise rule c...

Brief Book Review: Deep Value Investing

It has been a long while since I've read a book that espouses a judgmental approach to stock selection. For God knows how long I've fallen into the systematic investment camp. Want the market's return? Buy a total stock market index fund. Want to invest by the principles of Benjamin Graham? The Vang...

Sad to see people leave, but it's also pointless to beg people to stay in a place they don't want to be. What a pity.

For everyone leaving our forum, do take care!

Prognosticators like Dent will tell everyone to hold cash and bonds. Buffett says to hold mostly stocks and be confident abo...
