Re: Finally antibody testing is available relatively nearby!
Just read elsewhere... "Not so much fudging numbers, its people not willing to say we don't know yet. We don't know on a large scale who has antibodies. We also don't know for sure what protection antibodies provide. There are lines of people here to pay $160 for a COVID antibody test and I fee...

Re: Extrovert or Introvert?
I'm pretty sure most art experts consider photography an art. It used to be a burning question. Seems like it still may be when I find things like this: https://contrastly.com/photography-art-form/ Is Photography an Art Form? "So yes, I do believe that in the right circumstances photography is...

Re: What Does Life Look Like For You Now?
Quarantine life is a rehearsal for retirement for me... My greatest fear in retiring from work was that though I am still am playing basketball and softball at this advanced age at some point those will have to stop (but I've thinking the same thing the last four decades). And, if I'm also no longe...

Re: Extrovert or Introvert?
I'm pretty sure most art experts consider photography an art. But that aside, somehow I doubt that many artists are ISTJs. They tend to be Fs. And even if they were, that's still not a reason for me to need SJs in my private enclave. BTW, my first wife was an ISFJ, as is my current wife's ex-husban...

Re: TIPS vs. LT Bonds
The 30-year decline in interest rates have cause the long-term bond component of the Permanent Portfolio to make a significant contribution to the Portfolio's annual return. Now that interest rates are near zero, I wonder whether they still represent a viable component. It is widely expected, alth...

NTs can do those jobs, they just don't prefer them. So they would have to be paid more highly. However, the big advantage is that NTs aren't interested in being tyrants. You can talk sense to them and they will agree rather than attacking you because their precious routine might be disturbed if the...

I wonder if they'd be willing to tell you the antibody test's accuracy. My understanding is that most antibody tests tried thus far have specificity issues. For example, they can sometimes misidentify common cold antibodies as Covid-19 antibodies. https://www.connectradio.fm/2020/04/20/coronavirus-...

It's almost like stronger muscles can produce more force and make it easier to run back and forth on a basketball court! ;) It seems that free weights are actually a cardiovascular form of exercise in that that they also strengthen the heart. I believe I read this in Rippitoe's book. Also just foun...

Re: TIPS held to maturity as "bottom" of cash component?
I have read on them, and I think I understand how they work. The thing is, I can't really figure out how the fixed rate is determined. I also have no idea how the fixed rate is determined. For all I know, it may be arbitrary. Really makes me curious, especially with it sitting at 0% fixed rate...

More likely a bird or a mouse. Cats are unbelievable with birds. I used to put collars with bells on my cats so that they would not get the birds. But they were so sneaky they still got them.

Except if you are still playing basketball (in general, not during lockdown) you are also getting lots of cardio from that. Most of my cardio comes from pickleball. Not really. I am the proverbial "hard gainer"and the classic ectomorph. I plateaued years and years ago on the exercises that I do. Adding 5 pounds to any of them is a MAJOR accomplishment. However, since I'm in the age group of more rapid phase of losing muscle mass potential just staying at a plate...

At some point I’m going to need to gain a little weight to put on more muscle after I run out of extra fat and my lifts start to plateau. I am the proverbial "hard gainer"and the classic ectomorph. I plateaued years and years ago on the exercises that I do. Adding 5 pounds to any of them ...

Re: What Does Life Look Like For You Now?
With all this weight lifting talk, just curious: Who here has lost or gained more than 3 pounds? I consider 2 lbs to be insignificant due to salt intake variation and whether or not a recent poop has taken place, March 17th was the last day I've been off my property. Do my daily weights and fluctua...
