Re: Religion Of Peace Ramping Up For The Fall Season
Of course, curlew. We probably have the same viewpoint. I just think the whole commie analogy is ridiculous. Best thing we can do is heavily vet people coming in from war-torn nations such as Syria, cross-checking with criminal records and shared intelligence. Asking "Are you a communist"...

I think that quote officially belongs to Steve Sailer. He used to write for National Review but got ex-communicated. You can find his articles here.... http://www.unz.com/dualstow wrote:I remember someone (Tenn? Med-Tex?) referencing something about our Invite the World / Invade the World policy.

Re: Religion Of Peace Ramping Up For The Fall Season
Interesting. I did eventually look it up, and it is easy enough to join a communist party, or THE communist party, from here in the States. You can also convert to Islam here in the States. Nobody is arguing that point. The question is whether "We the People of the United States" still ha...

Re: Religion Of Peace Ramping Up For The Fall Season
I haven't looked it up, but I'm pretty sure we don't ban communists from entering the country. I think we have our own tiny communist party here. Immigration forms still ask if you are a member of the communist party (I filled one out for my wife). And it looks like you can be denied if you are acc...

Currently manage fixed income duration to 5.6 years by holding additional cash. Now at the point that I have too much cash, roughly 40% PP is 20/20/20/40. Would like to transition to 4x25, which involves buying stocks, gold and bonds. Struggling with investing additional cash into portfolio with th...

Re: Marijuana Legalization
Good, that's exactly what should happen. The question with legalization was never "will people smoke pot". They already do. The question is who gets to enjoy the money made growing and selling the stuff. The two choices are a) Mexican cartels and organized crime in the US, and b) private ...

Re: Religion Of Peace Ramping Up For The Fall Season
Just in the past few days the religion of peace has attacked a policeman with a machete, bombed a US marine benefit run, bombed a crowded NY street, and stabbed innocents in a mall in Minnesota while shouting Allah Akbar. The outrage is not with this but rather that Donald Trump said that NYC was b...

My method of interpretation has some similarity to yours and possibly some significant differences. Mine is "Scripture Interprets Scripture" and is the Word of God - thus it is God based and not man based. Yours seems to be "The Holy Spirit tells man to look within". Mine says t...

I don't know if Transhumanism will ever happen but that sounds like a pretty good substitute to me. The Bible says faith can move a mountain but I've yet to see it happen. I have seen human technology tunnel through them however.Mountaineer wrote: Transhumanism substitutes faith in technology for faith in God.

Re: Figuring Out Religion
The transhumanists are on a search for an immortality, but that search is futile, as futile as our first parents who searched for life apart from God but found only death. How do you know it is futile? You are only making a theological assertion that has no basis in fact and can't be proven, just l...

Here's Penn & Teller on The Bible. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f3e_1401165670 If you want to really have some Biblical fun go read the story of how Aaron and Moses first went to Pharaoh in Egypt in Exodus 7-8 to tell him to "Let my people go". It started with Aaron throwing Moses' ...

Re: "Sully" movie
Government bureaucrats usually make for easy villains when you need one in a dramatic "based on a true story" move like this so I was somewhat sympathetic to their complaints about being unfairly portrayed. Upon further reading, I found a report that said Sully stands by the portrayal in t...

I've gotten emails like this before but usually they are from countries like Nigeria. This one came directly for Christine Lagarde <ppot@53.fms.gov.ru> so I'm thinking it might actually be legitimate. What do you think? Should I contact Mr. David Fletchers or not? Recently retired, I have a lot of t...

IMHO, writing a book tearing down Mother Teresa and throwing a sexual wordplay in the title is another thing entirely. The guy made a career of being an asshat. I never read the book so I can't comment on the contents of it. You may be right about the "asshat" nature of the title but one ...

I was a Hitchens fan in my atheist years, but could always see that he was more of an entertainer than a serious thinker. He was sort of the Michael Moore of the new atheists; fun to watch if you agree with him, as long as you don't look too deeply at the real story. What are the "new atheists...
