Re: Died Suddenly

There are websites such as How Bad is my Batch that allow you to check your batch number against the VAERS database. Of course there will be varying opinions on the value of all of that.

Re: Died Suddenly

Here's a chart of excess mortality in the US, 2015 - Present:

https://www.usmortality.com/excess-mortality/percentage

The age range filters are kind of interesting.

Re: Died Suddenly

Sorry to hear about your coworkers. I think everyone here finally burned out on covid and related topics several months ago (or more). I do remember that at one point, maybe even before the vaccines rolled out, that excess mortality was a frequent topic of discussion. It would be interesting to go b...

Anyone wonder why there are so many former FBI people at Twitter?

Vinny, your framing of this as being about the Cult of Trump is blinding you to what’s really going on.

Re: Help a newbie to trust the PP

That may be true (depending on the variables), and Kitces is undoubtedly smarter than I am. But there's a lot more risk involved. A person that wants to ensure that their younger spouse is left with a consistent, reliable income might choose a different path. I'll be working the numbers and consider...

Re: Help a newbie to trust the PP

The reason I am planning to delay until age 70 is that my wife (lower earner) is 8 & 1/2 years younger than I am and would get a much higher spousal benefits when/if I predecease her. Me claiming at 70 and my wife - a few months later - at 62 is the strategy recommended by the open source SS calcul...

Re: Mar A Lago documents

The point is that any outsider that poses a threat to The Regime would get the same treatment. Are you able to clearly define "The Regime" in detail? How they communicate. How they are self-perpetuating. How ones gets entry to being part of it. How ones gets removed from it. Many other details / sp...

Re: Mar A Lago documents

It’s unlikely that we’ll know what’s in the Mar-a-Lago documents anytime soon. The cloak of mystery is too useful as a narrative-building tool. The new special counsel investigation will ensure that these docs and many other potentially embarrassing details about the government during the Trump era ...

Re: How did YOU vote???!!

So if you’re someone that thinks the GOPe is the problem, should you keep voting for their candidates? Or is a strategic retreat (D win) the better option? I don’t have the answer but it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. Isn't that the basic conundrum for BOTH factions of the Republica...

Re: How did YOU vote???!!

Here's the trouble that I see... Suppose that DeSantis beats Trump in the primary. Trump isn't the kind to accept defeat and endorse his rival. He's more the kind to then decide to run as an independent. If he does, then the D nominee (no matter how senile, for example) will cruise to an easy victo...

I'm in the camp that if the US is going to war, be it Real War, Proxy War, Amicus Curiae, Arm's Dealing, whatever... Then it should be war . No conditions. We bomb the shit out of everything. Rape the women. Steal the priceless artifacts. Salt the earth. Enslave the conquered. Appropriate the natur...

Yes. Congress is political theater, but let’s put our faith in an investigation conducted by… Congress. :o

I don't think they will find anything new on the FBI as that dog has been run. I am looking forward to the social media companies side of the investigation. However, I think at the end of the day, given current law, they can simply say our job is take make money and those were our decisions. May no...

Also...I saw a Tweet that said only 27% of the Gen Z populace even bothered to vote. IDK if accurate but a lot of not much ain't much. Yes but what % of their ballots were collected? That's the game now, apparently. Meaning? Meaning that in many states with loose regulations or lax enforcement rega...

Yes, lists are the way to go. I follow zero other accounts so my feed is empty. But I have several private lists that so far remain unpolluted by the algorithms. It also helps by keeping different areas of interest separated which is easier on my brain.
