Re: Too bad George Orwell isn't around to see this
Impeaching for something that isn't a crime would be a terrible precedent. How would a President even know whether something he's doing is impeachable or not, if he can be impeached for something that's legal? Fortunately, I don't think it's true. Surely there has to be a crime for somebody to be im...

Not sure it's entirely moot. They have a broad discretion to determine what's allowed and what isn't. What if they determine what you have in there isn't collectible enough?mathjak107 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 2:30 pm I keep nothing in the box that i shouldnt so it’s a moot point

If they see you doing it they will turn it over to authorities to find out why you are breaking your agreement and trying to hide cash and gold knowing it is forbidden . In addition to dualstow's question of how, I'm wondering what authority would care about this, and exactly what the remedy would ...

Amazon medical transcriptions
This sounds like a complete disaster for privacy, but it's an interesting idea. WiseOne (or Adam... Any other MDs?), it seems like automatic transcription of conversations would free up a lot of time you spend writing up notes. How big a deal could this be? https://www.engadget.com/2019/12/02/amazon...

Re: The Left is Eating Itself Pt. II
In Spanish and other Latin-derived languages, an "-a" suffix indicates the feminine. A group consisting entirely of Hispanic women are said to be "Latina". When there's at least one man in a group, it goes to the default "Latino". This means that there isn't a way to de...

Re: Do You Carry a Multitool?
I used to carry one of those mini swiss army knives on my keychain. Super useful, but unfortunately I've lost all but one of them to the TSA because I keep forgetting to take it off before traveling. So the last one sits in a drawer. I'm a big fan of keeping tools handy though! Thanks to how insane...

By default, only images are allowed to be attached, and those only to posts not to PMs. I've loosened things up so that documents can also be attached (including PDF), and allowed attachments to PMs.

Re: 600 Members Coming Up
That would be great fun. I hate to be a stick-in-the-mud, but with my lift right now if it isn't in Austin, then I probably can't go. Don't plan around me if it needs to be somewhere else. If it can coincide with West Virginia in town to play the Longhorns (which I think will happen next season) the...

I think a year or two ago there were enough members in New York City to have a get-together. Sophie was there, and I think bedraggled; I forget who else.
What I do not recommend is Googling for something like "PP party" in your local town. There are some things you can't unsee.

They're also mentioned in the Aeneid, which is about Trojans who survived the war and escaped to eventually found Rome. It's an origin story for Rome itself! Pretty neat. Think about this: the Aeneid is an ancient epic poem. And it was written a thousand years (a THOUSAND years) after the Iliad and...

Lesson: never let anyone else "manage" your domain for you. Register it yourself. Isn't this true of most things in life? No one else is as invested as you are, as is likely to mess it up. I keep a personal domain for email, and use KolabNow as a host. One day I'll just set up my own mail...

...any number of things could have killed their kid, and if they had cared enough, they could have prevented it. True, but those other things didn't. Not letting the officer off the hook here, but it probably actually is criminally negligent in the part of the parents for the baby not being properly fastened in the vehicle. The officer chose to speed, and the parents chose not to bother fastening their baby. The parents might deserve more blame, ...

Grant was magnanimous at a personal level, but he had no love for the ideals of slavery or the people who favored them by the time the civil war ended. The war changed him and Lincoln, it made them LESS tolerant of slavery. The latter part of the quote was my intent for posting. Bad is bad and the ...

Is there a particular program you guys recommend to encrypt cloud based files? I use Diskcyptor to encrypt local drives, but not sure if/how that would work for individual files that would be uploaded to the cloud. Re: Privacy terms - Google Drive vs OneDrive
Tech is right: if you want to keep it private, you have to encrypt it yourself. Are you saying that portals provided by investment firms and CPA firms and the like may not be secure? Vinny That's certainly possible, yes. But in general, anybody who has encrypted something is also able to decrypt it...
