Mortgage rates heading higher. Not much demand for bonds that yield negative in real terms.
Days like today one can think that the time has come for the whole market to go no-bid.

Sorry for being ignorant, but did not have time today to read the news for US - what's the current 'explanation' for the S&P/QQQ down days ? In EU we had the ECB announcement yesterday, which might serve as some explanation ... Inflation CPI higher than expected. So the freakout continues. Than...

Yeah, definitely 20% commodities held in the Ivy portfolio needs some strong conviction, given that in the short term you will buy at high price (the war in Ukraine is already taken into account, and what happens if it ends some time soon..? For markets I do not think that it will make any sort of d...

The whole world is experiencing inflation, not just the US. Yes, you are definitely not alone. The euro area annual inflation rate was 7.4% in April 2022, a year earlier, the rate was 1.6%. European Union annual inflation was 8.1% in April 2022, up from 7.8% in March. A year earlier, the rate was 2...

I would assume the same, Vil. The only thing I knew for sure was that ppnewbie was not using Apmex. O0 Inconsequential: the 1/4 oz eagle I bought using bitcoin from this forum did feel good. Should have spent more. I do not have eagles at all, should buy some, some day. To be honest I rarely feel t...

I might, too, but i buy from Apmex and the premium is way higher for fractional there.
Do not think its only Apmex that sell fractional at premium, think that's pretty much the case everywhere .. :D

Well, the truth is it's really hard to feed you/your family from farming. Even with the alluvial soil (and thanks to Danube being such an enormous river) we enjoy in Northern Bulgaria - its hard to feed a family without having to take extremely good care and work a lot on several acres. If you want ...

Yeah, nothing good ahead of us. Re: If The Stock Market Crashes Which Asset Will Save Us?

My wife and I might not be great at investing, but we've been awfully good at saving. According to Paul Belanger's new book (which is discussed in another thread) savings rate is if not important, at least equally important to the investing strategy you choose. He provided some very simple, but ins...

Speaking of German inflation (and as I am here now) - has noticed the menu stickers (the kind of transparent ones glued to the entry glass doors of restaurants) having different prices than the paper menu prices. 10-15-20% (or alike) higher in the paper menus.
