From the VP\ARM thread: Perhaps. I use Standard Notes myself, but it’s got a lot of warts. Like, a *lot.* I think Drafts (iOS) was the software I mentioned to you directly. What {..} I use in my iPad {..} that works quite well {is the Notes app} I could easily take notes in it and just as easily em...

Re: Engineers on the forum: did you like the Lightning connector?

As long as I'm not using that giant 30-pin connector Apple used to ship I'm good lol. You mean the one that all my old iPads, iPods, iTouches, iPhones use? I have innumerable of those cables and use one frequently for the iPad I use to keep score at my softball games. When I was connecting it a sol...

Re: Engineers on the forum: did you like the Lightning connector?

Yes they do have a name. Check the wiki page on USB and you’ll see the different types. I have too many of those kindle-type ones you mentioned and had to buy a “normal USB”-to-USB cable recently because despite having a basket full of cables, I couldn’t find a single normal one for my disk drive. ...

Re: Engineers on the forum: did you like the Lightning connector?

Fear not, Mountaineer, for Apple is ready to sell you a $29 dongle O0 I have exactly one lightning device, and when I trade it in I’m going to send my cables in for recycling. Will they accept them all? Maybe not. I had been wondering about you sending in your cable for recycling since it seems you...

Re: Engineers on the forum: did you like the Lightning connector?

Because you’re not aware that they’re poor value! I do think that all the Apple products I own are great! And, especially great value since I bought all of them used (except for my first iPad which I bought refurbished). It is only Apple computers which I have never owed and believe to not represen...

What do I use in my iPad ("Notes") that works quite well.

I could easily take notes in it and just as easily email those notes to myself.

I'll read. Can at least also be listening to music or having a sports game on at the same time. Videos are too all consuming of too many of my senses. When I backtest I assume a investor would have held T-Bills instead of gold pre 1934, silver between 1934 and 1975, gold since 1976. Prudent. Re: PP Mistakes

But what if I step back to get a bit more perspective? What if I look at the preceding 13-year period (late 1997 to late 2010)? Over that time window, the stock market had a meager CAGR of 2.7% (vs. 7.3% for the PP) and also had a stomach-churning negative return of -36.2% in 2008. The picture star...

Re: PP Mistakes

I have no regrets going all in on the PP in late 2010 and sticking with it since then. It has had a modest CAGR of 5.0% over that 13-year period, with a max negative return of -11.9% in 2022. It has allowed me to mostly shrug off market turmoil and sleep soundly as I focus on working and accumulati...

Many people know about the seizure of U.S. citizens’ gold in the 1930’s, but do you know how much the cash compensation was?

I think I may have read about it a few times. But I'm guessing it was not much.
