Divisible: isn’t it the ultimate divisible instrument? There are +ve and -ve sides. Tangible in-hand assets have distinct adv...

Re: The GOLD scream room

Interesting that as some investors panic, gold is going up while bitcoin is going down. That doesn’t mean bitcoin won’t “win” eventually of course, but you can see that people still trust gold. I hate when people call Bitcoin "digital gold". … Current situation shows it is not. Yep, it’s ...

I have no predictions but I remember that soon after I joined here, craigr posted that he had rebalanced out of gold more than once. Three times, I think. In a relatively short span of time.

I loved ‘Anthem’ as a kid. (And apparently so did Neil Peart).
That was a short read.

I recently engaged with a lefty ex-co-worker I'm friends with on a similar topic. I don't think they are interested in prosperity, only in equality. They would rather live in a shithole where everyone is poor than tolerate the billionaires who create the stuff they use on a daily basis. I’m finally...

Average duration is 14 years. Darn. I was thinking about buying some VGLT as a bit of market timing before the next big stock crash (which I always get wrong). Average “effective maturity” is 22 years, but the duration is no good. (EDV’s is 24 years). I will look no further. https://investor.vangua...

Pretty cheap for a one-stop shop. Good fund. I bailed on Vanguard’s Target Retirement (2030 or ‘35) when they made some huge adjustment resulting in a massive capital gain.
