Re: FBI REOPENS HILLARY INVESTIGATION
A quote from Jonah Goldberg of NR that I very much agree with.... But in all of the arguments and counter-arguments about whether Comey is right or wrong, principled or cynical, something important is lost in the conversation: This is all Hillary Clinton’s fault. She did this. She and her husband ha...

Re: Figuring Out Religion
Did you notice the word Christian? Not in the quote from John Adams which was what I was commenting on. (And I did read the article, BTW. I generally always do before making a comment). I'm further guessing you are voting for Hillary? The democratic party play book seems to say to always take thing...

Re: Figuring Out Religion
John Adams famously wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” We seem to be hell-bent on testing his prescience. Given that American participation in organized religion has been steadily declining, the importati...

Re: Sophie--did you see the medicare reimbursement changes?
From the article.... The ultimate — and undeniably laudable — goal of the legislation is to base physician payments on the value of the care patients receive, rather than the volume of services provided. I can see how they could quantify "volume of services provided", but how in the heck d...

Re: Massive Internet Attack Strikes America
Reminds me of the massive internet outage we had at work a few months before they laid me off. All the network folks were saying it was a Denial Of Service attack that we weren't properly prepared for. It turned out that somebody entered the wrong command to switch out a router.

Re: Feds Warn Us That Evidence Of Election Fraud Could Be Russian Fraud
When Hillary said in the last debate that 17 different intelligence agencies had confirmed that the Russians were responsible for something on the internet (I forget what it was - the Wikileaks hacks?) why didn't somebody ask her to name the 17 agencies? And if she could, a perfect follow up would h...

Curlew, how about this site? They indicate that they ship to the US. https://well.ca/brand/robax.html Thanks but I tried that site before and just tried it again. It's only a tease because when you go to check out it says it can only be shipped to Canadian addresses. I have a friend in Ontario who ...

Been looking for something that would help improve my quality of life after retiring at age 67 with arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and spine and I've come to the conclusion that FDA stands for F***ing Damn A**holes. In Canada you can buy just about every form of NSAID combined with a muscle re...

Re: I'm free
You're lucky. I'm not eligible for Medicaid OR ObamaCare because I'm eligible for Medicare. The ObamaCare MAGI expansion (no asset test) doesn't apply if you're eligible for any other forms of health insurance. I've been trying for awhile to find a way around it, but just cannot find a loophole in ...

MG: avoid dualistic thinking, and don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Just because some of what they say is wrong, that doesn't mean that all of it is. If you're like me and have a lot of time on your hands you might find this 53 minute interview of Richard Dawkins interviewing illusionist Derren Brown as fascinating as I did. A lot of it has to do with how "cold readings" communicating with the dead work and how people buy into it. The t...

As I have posted before, the same thing happened to me at the end of July. I was planning on retiring next year any way and I was telling every body it was no big deal but the abruptness of it was more of a psychological jolt than I was letting on. It didn't help that it happened during the hot and ...
