Re: Crypto convert

I wish more members thought like this! The trick to investing in bitcoin long term is to dabble in alt coins. Once you've exposed yourself to even more extreme volatility the volatility in bitcoin can seem tame and that will help you ride out the ups and downs. Those who have read my posts on the s...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

I ended up getting "COVID arm" about a week after my vaccine. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/rare-covid-arm-phenomenon-a-harmless-immune-response-to-vaccination-experts-say-1.5298613 Basically felt like a giant mosquito bite on my shoulder for a couple of days. It's interesting ...

Re: Crypto convert

I'm still in Bitcoin with my 1% target allocation as part of my PP (along with 24% in gold). I don't think that we PP investors should have any kind of religious attachment to gold. We should only have a religious attachment to diversification . When I began to approach the question of cryptocurrenc...

Re: Why isn't gold moving?

I guess I'm not surprised gold has not moved quite yet. I think when/if it becomes clear that inflation is not transitory as the Fed claims it will begin to move as a response. Further, I think gold not skyrocketing upwards is, in a sense, an indication that it is the one asset that everything else ...

Re: What is your prediction for the future of the forum?

You have it backwards. It's the alt right extremists who freak out when a common sense, middle-of-the road person suggests wearing masks even past getting a vaccination. Who stormed the Capitol during the darkest day of America's history? Was it left-of-center people? Who gunned down peaceful BLM p...

Re: What is your prediction for the future of the forum?

That's the thing about organic discussions that are really meaningful and thoughtful: they're like capturing lightning in a bottle. I've never been able to force a good conversation, either in person or online. They just happen when they happen. They well up from the ether on their own. I don't thin...

Re: YouTube Junkie

Lately I've been binging this YouTube channel called OverSimplified. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNIuvl7V8zACPpTmmNIqP2A It's a channel that educates viewers on topics such as history and political science in a condensed manner. I love learning about stuff like this, but since my day-to-day wor...

Uber Eats and Door Dash rape the restaurants, so I refuse to use them. They make me angry.

It also makes me angry the way Canadians intentionally misspell things like favorite. :D
LOL.

Re: Finding Stuff To Make You Angry?

The only thing that makes me angry is that my favourite restaurant has recently stopped offering food on Uber Eats.

The political stuff? Nah. It's a comedic farce and should be treated as such.

Amen... and Awomen.

I predict that will change. That there will be a mad rush into precious metal allocations.
I hope you are correct.

Re: What is your prediction for the future of the forum?

This forum will survive and thrive, but it will not have mainstream appeal. Browne's ideas and the whole idea of risk parity is not well taken in most financial planning circles. The gold aspect in particular (and openness to alt cash in general) gives a lot of people pause. I don't mind that at all...

You are BACK!!!!

You had been missing from here for a month??!!

Now we need to AGAIN hear from Dualstow!! It's been about two months (at least) for him?
Indeed. I was disappointed to see that he had also not yet returned.

I hope he is staying safe, whatever he may be up to.

Cool to see your personal evolution in real-time doodle. Personally, I'm thrilled to have Bitcoin as another form of competitive alt cash. In particular, Bitcoin solves gold's serious problem of being difficult to move across borders in a true SHTF scenario. I don't like having to manage another ass...

Re: What's going on with silver?

Silver, at least in Canadian Dollars, has gone up by about 50% in the past year. I've sold half my silver position to lock in some gains. I've since reallocated that gain into gold, since that particular metal hasn't been as generous in the past 12 months. For some reason one of my local dealers won...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

I got my jab 5 days ago. My joints and muscles were sore for a few days, but otherwise no serious adverse effects. I'm very glad to at least have some partial protection. There has been an accumulation of reports and even some papers written about brain fog as a "long-haul" effect of COVID...

Fun Coding Projects

Just thought I'd start a thread to share some fun coding projects. This is a simple cyphering program. The user executes the program with a 26-character argument. That argument specifies the key by which text will be encrypted by informing the program the order of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Mor...
