Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

My lovely fiance did the following today: handcuffed me to the bed, replaced the filling in the oreos with toothpaste, and replaced the toothpaste in the tube with mayo.

What did you fellows have to suffer through today? :D

Never have. Someday. I’ll be out of town soon and when I get back, I hope to get back into python. Also want to build a PC this spring — nothing powerful or liquid cooled. O0 Just something with a lot of RAM that will last a while and dual-boot Windows and Linux. https://www.learnenough.com/ Whenev...

We are already making tentative plans for another trip in December 2024, but who knows what the country will be like at that point.

I shouldn’t use twitter as a source though it is photographic evidence. London has Ramadan street lighting and no Easter signs whatsover. That’s … weird. X is unparalleled in many ways. It will have instant information on many matters wherein if you do an internet search on them you will find nothi...

^ Excellent ^ How hard was it to get into Ukraine? If you hadn’t yet tied the knot, you couldn’t say you were visiting family. I’m sure there are tons of Canadian passport holders who visit Ukraine every day because of the diaspora population. But, were there a lot of forms? Oh, good question! It h...

I got some of my friends into my little All-Terrain Portfolio creation. One side effect of DIY ETF investing is that they now see all the dividends, interest, and how the money is actually invested. With their previous financial advisor everything was an opaque wall of paper statements and confusing...

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

Something very satisfying about tech nostalgia. There's a fairly new video about the Texas Instruments computer (TI-99) as a "failure" on youtube, but I and a lot of other people had a great young adulthood learning BASIC on it. One of the things I miss about the old days was the boatload...

I wonder what SBF is thinking right now. From billionaire business prodigy to prison. Can't imagine that would put anyone on anything less than suicide watch.

Wow, very interesting read. Thank you for that, Mr and Mrs Smithers. I read and hear a lot about Zelensky and corruption but I mean he's there . He didn't abscond with cash, and Бог knows he could have. He only leaves to drum up more support for the war effort. (I don't want to cheapen things by sa...

I’m decidedly unimpressive in person, M. I consider myself very lucky to have some long-time friends who know my quirks and put up with me. Re: Small Cap Value vs US Total Stock Market

One possible explanation that Fama put forth is that value companies may not be mispriced. It's possible that people just don't like them and don't have a taste for them. It could be that people have an affinity for glamour companies like Nvidia or Tesla and are willing to pay a premium to hold them...
