Re: 2017 PP Return Poll

2017 was a good year, the PP portion of my portfolio ended up at +10.64% which seems to be in line with others. I started in 2012 and I’d have to say overall performance has been within expectations which is great and continues to build confidence in the strategy. I’m currently at about: 30% Stocks ...

Or maybe he’s just “pacing and leading” on some or all of those issues.

Let this be a lesson: I bought a couple bitcoins around 2013 at about $100. Watched BTC spike up over $1000 and then crater. So then in late 2016 when it spiked again I sold them at around $700 to help pay for an electric bike I was building. Boy, was I feeling smug about my practically free electri...

Here's one that still works: =Index(ImportHTML("https://www.moneymetals.com/precious-metals-charts/gold-price","table",1),2,2) It's getting more difficult to find sites still using tables, that deliver the same page content to both browsers and Google Sheets, and don't use javasc...

Re: Best place to cash in Bitcoin for USD?

I've been happy with Coinbase to sell bitcoin in the past (at prices far lower than those today... ugh). You'll have to connect a bank account, they won't just mail you an envelope with cash. :) I'm not sure if the connecting process can be completed in the same day, but perhaps they'd let you sell ...

Doom porn eventually led me to the PP, so I suppose I am thankful for that. It's convincing at first but after a while you start to realize that it's really just a waste of time.

Re: Equifax hack

My sister just checked the Equifax site and had some excellent questions. Her entire family including her two kids, who have no credit history at all not to mention that the family live in Canada, came up as potentially compromised. My sister pointed out that searching a database of 143 million SSN...

We are not in the path of the total eclipse (Indianapolis area) but the local schools have canceled all outdoor after school activities, which I thought was interesting. Ah, a fellow Hoosier. Re: Trump as tragicomedy

Some say there will be three phases: Phase 1: OMG, TRUMP IS HITLER!! Phase 2: Okay, he's not Hitler... BUT HE'S INCOMPETENT AND INEFFECTIVE! Phase 3: Okay, he's competent and effective (or at least effective)... but I don't like what he's doing! (i.e. pretty normal politics) At about 6 months in, it...

By "interstate" I simply meant "freeway" or "multi-lane divided highway" or whatever it's called in the reader's part of the world. At any rate, I don't think the majority of people are going to give up their personal vehicles anytime soon. Might depend on one's definit...

Re: Self Driving Cars Article

Driving isn't fun. It may have been in 1963, but it isn't now. People who think driving is fun are experiencing that fun mostly as nostalgia for something that died decades ago, not because of what driving a car is like today. Sorry, this may be your opinion but I think you are vastly underestimati...
