Re: Do you think we are due for a drop in the market?

We're overdue for a drop in real terms if not in nominal. This stock bull market has it at the same relative price to gold as in late 2005, but the economy looks much worse as well as the inflation. I'm talking about the S&P and my guess is gold beats it handily in the next 10 years but we'll see. T...

While it appears that crypto is not yet ready for primetime as a safe haven (as the talking heads are pointing out), I am satisfied with gold’s performance today.
Everyone needs to pile into bitcoin and keep the goldprice cheap for me. The crypto scam can end when I've got a few hundred more oz.

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

Wait I thought the powers that be, and/or democrats, and/or governments, all want to keep on injecting us? Hmmm, this throws a slight wrench into that narrative. You actually believe that the science will override politics in 2021? i.e. that there will not be found some reason to change their mind ...

It's not changed science, it's changed feelings.
So we as a society have decided that it is better to protect the immune compromised rather than make ourselves stronger?
Some people have decided to make this idea popular with marketing from the TV and the computer. The question is why?

WSJ article about college enrollment. Interesting throughout. It's heartening to see that the idea that college is a necessity is fading away, at least among males. Still sad that so many people, especially girls, are wasting their time with it. I suspect that a major reason girls want to go to col...

And how do you know I'm an adult? Presumptuous.
No, it doesn't matter.

I presumed that you were an adult based on some of your previous commentary. But yes, it was a stretch.

You really have to broken mentally and spiritually to think people should be forced to take an experimental injection they don't want. And to claim that the people who refuse are putting the ones who take the injection at risk.....you must bend your mind into a pretzel.

If you follow the PP strictly, you will sell gold when it hits 40% of your portfolio to bring it down to 25%. Keep a third in etfs for an easy sale. Just be comfortable with the risks you're taking for convenience sake. Your other assets all depend on the "system" not breaking down. Every penny in a...

Getting COVID is a much higher risk for getting blood clots than taking the vaccine That's probably bad math. Because, the odds of getting COVID are not 100%. I don't know all the numbers but if risk of clots is 3x higher from Covid than from the vax, but the chance of getting Covid is 10%, then th...

Re: Where and how do you purchase physical gold?

At some point in the future we're going to know if physical gold was worth it or not. If physical and ETFs track well enough during the next gold panic buying episode or bubble, then there was no point to owning physical; let the selling begin. We won't know for a while. In the intervening 2+ years...

1) Failure of ETFs that hold gold. This has to be weighed against the risk of theft/less of physical gold coins. What are the chances that the ETF will fail, versus you losing your coins? Good old topic. I do it the same as Pkg man and buy something if it's on sale. I have Eagles, Maples, and Kruggerands.
Those are my three main along with a few Britannia and buffalos.

I look for whatever is cheaper but will pay up 1%-2% for US coins.
