Re: Invest like Buffett?

He's not "normal" in many ways which gives him a HUGE edge as an investor....1. has a photographic memory, 2. reads like 80% of his waking hours (like earnings reports..yuck). I simply cannot compete with this....nor would want too His overall playbook is rather simple though.....I use for the broa...

Re: Ally Bank No Penalty CD

It's a CD...no, it's a savings account...or is it a floor wax! https://www.ally.com/bank/no-penalty-cd/ Cliff Notes version: For a minimum balance of $25,000, you can now open a new savings-ish account with Ally yielding 1.50%. It is technically an 11 month CD with autorollover and with no early wi...

Fidelity - SHV BIL or TBILL ladder (auto roll)

Any opinions on what to choose at Fidelity for a 401k SHV, BIL, or TBILL ladder (or auto roll as I see people calling on it on the forum) or maybe Fidelity short term treasury fund, or vanguard short term treasury fund (I think Fidelity will let me do this). I have the option to choose any of these....

Is all cash on hand considered part of the PP

I am trying to figure out if, during retirement, all of your cash is considered part of your PP? And you just happen to spending some of your PP cash for daily expenditures. Or is it viewed as a completely seperate asset in the PP that you do not draw down on daily needs. Reading Craig and J.M.'s bo...

Question about 401k plan allocations in the PP

What is the best way to funnel money into the PP part of your 401k from your plan contributions. Do most folks have it go into cash and then periodically allocate it. If so do you split the allocations across the asset classes each time? Looking for ideas.

2. You can call Fidelity Fixed Income Service (800-544-5372) and speak with a knowledgeable rep to answer any question you might have on a specific trade or issue. I have never been charged for this service.
Great advice. I called Fidelity yesterday. The rep was very knowledgable. Thanks again.

Thanks I tried to review the tutorial but for some reason the jpegs are not visible. Based on your suggestion, I'll call the Fidelity bond desk as well.

Re: Treasury Bond Basic Quetions - TreasuryDirect

Personally I don't mess with treasury direct for anything other than I Bonds where there is no choice. Any brokerage will be easier for you. I use Fidelity and I can purchase through auction or repo markets, as well as sell, quite easily. In the days leading up to the auction they display the curre...

Treasury Bond Basic Quetions - TreasuryDirect

I have lots of questions. I find the information on how to purchase bonds, what you are purchasing, when you are purchasing them, how many of them you are going to receive very confusing. I have a lot of questions. If anyone has answers to even one or two of the questions that will help tremendously...

Re: Gold Purchase!

It’s interesting because it’s almost like you have to diversify your gold portfolio to manage its own set of risk. Would love to have a good (and somewhat liquid) Canadian allocated gold option.

Also do any of the oversees etf’s trigger fatca reporting requirements?
