Re: Good summary of 18 portfolios

Thanks for the link! I enjoyed the analysis, and it left me wanting more discussion beyond the average return and standard deviation. So it inspired me to make the Risk & Return calculator. (Here's a detailed explanation ). It will help you quickly generate similar charts for lots of different metr...

Re: Purpose of the PP

Thanks for posting this, Ochotona. Amazing stuff. I think the PP can indeed be an antidote to thinking along standard lines. (American businesses will grow without limit, stocks always go up, etc.) I suppose a given person can be conditioned and overly attached to any given way of thinking, includin...

Re: Dealing With Setbacks in Life

Crazy! I had something similar happen to me with city taxes once. I suddenly have a strange craving for unagi. I am seriously considering moving to Alberta when this is done and through. Lower cost of living, and I actually know quite a few people who live there now through some happenstance. And n...

Re: Dealing With Setbacks in Life

Just an update for you, my Internet friends. My defence package was finally completed by my lawyer and myself and has been sent in. That part is done. A big weight of paperwork is off my shoulders. We'll see what the results are soon. I went in to see ICBC today. A couple setbacks. First, due to cle...

Re: Is Trump doing a good job?

Oh good, I feel better already. I didn't say any of those things were cheerful or even justified. I said you're not complicit. I can't even watch the original Star Wars because I don't like watching all those Storm Troopers die. Never mind. We didn't have this conversation. O0 It's funny, I had tha...
