Re: Breaking News, Politics version

And why would that be, if everyone with a few functional brain cells knew there was going to be tremendous outrage from one side or the other on Jan 6th regardless of how Pence and Congress decided to handle the electoral votes? Soros and the globalist cabal? What are you driving at? That is was a ...

Re: Breaking News, Politics version

Indeed. When I watch video of the Capitol police standing down and only weakly pushing back against the protesters, it seems to me that there are only two possible explanations that make sense: a) The storming of the building was a staged event to generate such outrage at Trump and his supporters t...

Re: Breaking News, Politics version

If you can view this you can see that if the police had used 1/100 the amount of force they'd routinely use against certain other protestors.....this crowd would have easily backed right down. Hard to believe if all the protestors were black they would have been treated with such deference and kid ...

Re: POLL - What will Pence do?

I just pray that Supreme Court packing doesn't happen. And, for the Republicans to retake the Senate in 2 years. I don't think Supreme Court packing would matter much, because the existing Supreme Court has already shown that they are in the establishment's pocket. They won't take any real stand ag...

Re: Persistent phone scammer

Really sorry you’re having to go through this ordeal, Sophie. Does your mom really need a limit of several thousand dollars or more on her credit card? I assume you’ve already considered this, but just in case you haven’t, maybe it would make sense to reduce her card’s limit to slightly more than wh...

Re: The Secession Thread

I'm intrigued, Maddy. A republican form of government has at least some amount of central authority, doesn't it?

If a group of people forms an "autonomous zone" in which the republic's central authority isn't recognized at all, is that still a republican form of government?

Re: The Secession Thread

As the events of 2020 have made abundantly clear (Covid-1984 and the election debacle), I don't think state constitutions or the federal Constitution hold much power anymore. If constitutions were ever the guiding political/philosophical principles in the US, they no longer are. What matters now is ...

I sprinkle nutritional yeast on it. I have a story about nutritional yeast. My wife and I sprinkle it on our popcorn, too (along with melted butter). So a few months ago, my wife made a bowl of popcorn, drizzled the melted butter, sprinkled the yeast, mixed it all up, and was about to try the popco...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

What happens to the CDCs budget and ability to hold press conferences that anyone gives a shit about after covid ends? Wouldn’t the CDC be incentivized to drag out covid as long as possible? Multiple physicians have told me they think the public health profession has seriously damaged its reputatio...

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/prior#Adverb Adverb prior (comparative more prior, superlative most prior) (colloquial) Previously. Synonyms: ago, hitherto The doctor had known three months prior. I had based my comment on the fact that these two dictionary sites don't list an adverb form of "prior"...
