"Should we all be in cash?"

It depends! If you can demonstrate numerically that you can fund your lifetime needs with pure cash, why not be in cash? On the other hand, few have enough cash to be able to do this.

Re: Homelessness on the Rise?

Even in fast-growing, prosperous, and generally conservative Harris County TX, I see more and more homeless encampments. Lots along Interstate 10 where I travel. I shudder to think what happens when unemployment cycles back from 3.5% to double that or more someday, I doubt the business cycle has bee...

Re: Asset locations

Somehow the section from the book on Tax Deferred Accounts that I put here did not show up? "Tax-Deferred Accounts (Speaking of gold, bullion is taxed as a “collectible” at a special high 28% capital gains rate, so there is an advantage to holding it inside an IRA.) I believe this line from the boo...

I also read to that many Chinese restaurants are closing - the children of the aging owners have no interest in the family business. That's OK, it's better to be a dentist or a CPA!

Re: Asset locations

It seems like it goes along with Mathjak (I believe) several times pointing us to the Kitces writing in which Kitces makes the case that a Roth (or retirement?) account is the spot for your equity investment. Any asset which you think will have a really good chance of a big capital gain over your l...

The Census occurs every 10 years, so they need to stockpile bodies to get their population count up.

Sometimes I wonder if the 20% SCV wedge of GB wouldn't be profitably position in EM Value, due to this.

Re: Insuring gold?

When the cost of safe deposit box insurance + the safe deposit fee is noticeably above the expense ratio of AAAU, then I'm pushing the physical into a Donor Advised Fund and rebuying AAAU elsewhere.
