Re: Meritocracy's Miserable Winners

I had the opportunity to go to Brown University or the University of Rhode Island. I went to Brown. I have this sneaking suspicion that somehow I'd have ended up in exactly the same place, with a lot less stress, and having spent a lot less of my parents' money. And Brown was "cheap" back then. Re: 10 Year Treasury in ETFs

IEF seems to outperform the 10 year Treasury benchmark at Portfoliovisualizer.com. Therefore, I would be inclined to just be happy with IEF and not over-science it.

So, using the OP you could decide you wanted 10 as your duration and 50/50 comes pretty close to that. Accordingly, with a 1% interest change w...

Mentioned in the Wall St Journal today: Schwab and other brokerages will still make money off you from poor-yielding sweep accounts holding your uninvested cash.

Re: Stock and ETF brokerage costs plunge

More today from Paul Novell. Maybe I don't need to test out IBKR. It is darned convenient to have most of my stuff at Schwab. To place MOC orders at Schwab, you need to use Street Smart Edge trading platform. Can't do it from the web or mobile. "One comment this week on developments in the discount ...

Hurricanes, man ! Very serious threats. Since the early days of permanent settlement of the Cayman Islands, records – sometimes with little information – have been kept of the hurricanes that have impacted the Cayman Islands. Here is a list of some of the most significant hurricanes that passed over...

Firms offering no commissions on trading: Charles Schwab (announced 10/1/19) TD Ameritrade (announced 10/2/19, effective 10/3/19) Interactive Brokers ( the IBKR-Lite tier ) Now you can buy whichever gold ETF you want, without concerns about fees. Probably lots of people will start buying AAAU now.
