Re: Is Obamacare setting up doodle's vision of the future?

How about cancel all regulation and let the market regulate it? People will buy what they want. The best companies will be rewarded. You don't have to worry about bad insurance companies. No one will buy their insurance. And without the regs the costs will plummet. Does everyone here understand how...

Re: Peter Schiff Was Right (again)

I'm amazed that nobody I've ever met knows who Harry Browne or the PP is. Tech, You still have expenses don't you?  If gold does another stretch like '81 to '2000 and you lose your job you could hit some huge solvency issue.  Leverage isn't the only cause of insolvency. I can meet my mandatory expe...

Re: Is Obamacare setting up doodle's vision of the future?

Another practical way to solve the problem Obamacare was trying to solve was to federalize the regulation of insurance and destroy all the ridiculous barriers to competition that the states have set up. With one giant nationwide market, I would expect prices to quickly plummet. That would also help...

Re: Peter Schiff Was Right (again)

I'm amazed that when we have a guy like HB to look to as a leader in the Austrian/libertarian community, that we'd even give Schiff any of our respect.  HB is the gold standard (pardon the pun) of Austrian economic thinking and market analysis, IMO.  I don't agree with him in some important areas, ...

Re: Paper gold risks

Yes, I confirmed with my CPA about the fact that GTU is taxed as capital gains, not as a collectible, so GTU will be taxed at 20% instead of 28% for long term capital gains.  But that is just one benefit.  My main concern is the safety of my IAU holding.  There is a lot of talk about GLD and IAU ha...

Re: Would Cruz/Palin Be An Unbeatable Ticket?

Bland and boring and will not appeal to the masses. Someone had better tell the pollsters that: (from http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2013/09/clinton-behind-cruz-other-potential-republican-opponents-in-wv.html#more) Q14 If the candidates for President next time were Democrat Hillary Clinton...

Re: Republicans tickets that could challenge Hillary

Christie does have one important quality (IMHO):  he can more than hold his own when questioned by media/others trying hard to make him look bad (there are you great fun you tube videos of such). CHristie is too much a RHINO to be my preferred candidate.  I believe Cruz can handle himself.  Anyone ...

Re: Is Obamacare setting up doodle's vision of the future?

I completely agree. Which is why I support (with deep reservations) a single payer system like almost every other country in the civilized world has. Obamacare is a mess. It was an attempt to get everyone insured while bowing to the free market god. You didn't answer my first point: If all you/demo...

Re: Republicans tickets that could challenge Hillary

If the Tea Party "hijacked" the GOP how in the world did Romney win the nomination? They couldn't agree on an anti-Romney candidate. It was a very weak field. Indeed.  The Tea Party types loved, at various times: Michele Bachman Herman Cain Rick Perry Newt Gingrich Oddly, though Ron Paul could argu...

Re: Is Obamacare setting up doodle's vision of the future?

I don't grasp the rational that says it's OK to have the government run a fire department, a police department, and armed forces, but not guarantee health care as a basic civil right. The logic, if there is any, strikes me as medieval. But yeah, Obamacare is nuts. I completely agree. It's a hypocri...
