RobJ,
It's hard to say. I always tend to think a job is the best choice, because it gives you more options as you begin to figure it out. And it gives you experience, as PS said.

Re: Property Rights - Conscience
My comments have zero to do with Christianity. I'm just saying the more people are coerced into doing something they oppose, the more bitter they will become. At some point it explodes. The point under discussion is just one of many such disagreements. They keep coming, and keep getting more poi...

Re: Property Rights - Conscience
Perhaps the underlying issue is people do not like being forced to do something they do not want to do for whatever reason. Would we have a better "society" if, instead of a homosexual wanting laws that force someone to bake a cake for their same-sex wedding, they instead just came up with a bette...

Re: Final - A Secure Credit Card for the 21st Century
The big banks are just going to sit there while this startup takes away their market? If nothing else, they will sic the regulatory hounds on them. In any event, something like this has to happen, but it will be the existing players who dominate. IMO of course.

Re: Early Retirement Extreme progress
If you research it, you'll find the conventional wisdom is that annual home upkeep costs 3% or more of the home's value. My own estimates as a 3 time homeowner for 30+ years is that it is at least 1-2%. And we had good materials too. Things break, things wear out, weather away, etc. Some years t...

Re: Saudi Arabia/Egypt -vs- Iran proxy war in Yeman
At the risk of saying the obvious, if the rest of the world isn't careful, it could become WW III. The only thing is, I don't see any enthusiasm for say Russia to line up on one side against say the west on the other side. But then there is Israel, and all of their supporters. I don't know how th...

Re: "Millionaire Next Door" author Thomas Stanley
My kids are millenials. They grew up in a world of plenty, trophies for showing up, etc. Yet, they are pretty good. They are good with money, frugal at times, seeing the problem of too many possessions, good employees, etc. It's a relief, I tell ya.

Re: Fox News is the most trusted national news channel
I think the big 3 networks could be rolled into one choice on the survey. When you view it that way, Fox is not so dominant.

Re: Equal Pay for Equal Work
If it was possible for an employer to get more value per labor dollar by hiring more women, women workers would be in higher demand, and their wages would rise until the advantage went away.

Actually it is a tube of some size, of 1/10th ounce coins. So it would show up on the scanners, I would think.

Traveling with gold coins
Are there any laws or regulations against carrying $7000 worth of gold coins in a carry-on bag on a domestic USA flight? Would a person be wise to ask for a private TSA screening, or what? Not me, but someone I know.

Re: Shorter Term Instead of LT Bonds?
Harry Browne said it was always a tough sell getting PP investors to commit to the LT bonds. They were once mocked as "certificates of guaranteed confiscation". We could easily go Japanese, in which case the LT bonds will keep going up.
