Today is the last day of my seven day challenge to provide a current example of systemic racism in America. No examples yet, just conceptual takes.
And then the context comes after that.

Re: Where would you move?

One big question is what are your cultural requirements? I can go forever without needing the things a big city offers. Some are the opposite.

Re: Autonomous Enclave in Georgia, USA

Any semblance of government in Terlingua ended upon the death of Clay Henry, the Lone Star beer drinking goat that served as mayor. That is Lajitas, the town to the west. Lajitas used to be a real town, but some rich guy bought it and turned it into a little theme park of sorts. It's not worth goin...

Re: Autonomous Enclave in Georgia, USA

Any semblance of government in Terlingua ended upon the death of Clay Henry, the Lone Star beer drinking goat that served as mayor. Okay. Now I have to visit. Start by hanging out on the front porch of the hotel. You can find out which eating places are open which nights. They take turns being open...

Re: Concrete Actions to Address Systemic Racism

The system is not racist; I reject that from the get-go. It was once, no doubt. So I guess I have no suggestions. I really don't! As to individuals, be the change you want to see. Over time racial harmony has improved tremendously. It will continue to improve, over time. Wrong sub forum btw.

Re: Federalism on the upswing in USA

I think federalism sounds like a great thing, and it's too bad it ended so early. But mark me down as believing that you only hear politicians talk about it when it suits them. Still, the more they encounter situations where it suits them, the better for the cause.

Federalism on the upswing in USA

Starting with legalized weed, and now in corona virus, we are seeing the left favoring federalism. Is it real? Or is it like both sides always do with the constitution? ie Quote it when it suits their needs, and otherwise trample it. I don't think any national politicians have any use for federalism...

Break up the USA

I contend that the US will break up sooner rather than later. And that it will be a good thing. Hopefully with a soft border between the new nations.

What do you think about the idea? Are you willing to let "the other side" have their own place? Or must they be brought back into line?

Re: GOP defending Confederate legacy?

isn't it amazing/scary how much of what the left is up to has been cribbed directly from dystopian novels... its like they read them and said YAY A HOW TO MANUAL... Yes, great point. And the left's agenda is scarily like Mao's, and Pol Pot, et al. I see the whole woke culture as being very Maoist. ...
