Re: The GOLD scream room

Biggest comfort for me right now with gold is the fact the central banks own it still. I was otherwise losing the faith.

Re: What's going on with silver?

Same deal with platinum which is supposedly more rare than gold. Platinums existence as a precious metal more rare than gold makes me question holding gold.

Re: How to handle 529

I came to personal conclusion that they are not worth the trouble until we maxed out our Roth space. The only advantage I see over Roth account is the state income tax deduction on some states 529 plans but you don't have as many years to take advantage of tax free growth. So if you have the deducti...

Re: Seven providers have their hooks in me

My wife looks at the list of providers and accounts, and it makes her dizzy. Heresey alert. I have abandoned the permanent portfolio partially because of this and partially because of quest to pay off mortgage. I sold all gold at around $1330. Goal is only 3 buckets. 401k, reward checking and ira 5...

Re: GLDM - 0.18 exp. ratio 'Gold minishares'

Speaking of commission free...M1 Financial is looking very good to me as a brokerage option. Check out their "How We Trade" pdf. Commission free, fractional shares, dividend reinvesting, 1.35 margin if you want it at a very competitive (though not the best) rate and a very cool way to do sub portfo...

I actually think it would work well for a lot people.

If you have enough cash for emotional security blanket. I think my wife would be completely fine like Warren's.

Re: Treasury Direct Question

I believe your current holdings accounts for penalties if you withdrew today. I think it will start showing increased amount after year 1.
