Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

Not to derail further, but I fear property taxes will continue to increase where I live as well, and there are already murmurs about it. Why spend efficiently when you can just raise the rates? Of course they will. How else do you think local government is going to make up the lost revenue from the...

On a sad note one of my favorite chain restaurants, Sweet Tomatos, won't be reopening. Add another 4000+ to the ranks of the unemployed. We will be seeing a lot more of this.

Isn't adding to the lagging asset the same basic result as frequent rebalancing without the tax implications? I mean, if you didn't have new money coming in and were doing this inside a 401k, there are no tax implications anyway.

Re: Would you wear a mask?

At the store (Aldi) recently, there were maybe 25 people in the store. Everyone was wearing a mask. Except for the 80-year-old-looking dude in front of me in line. He even took a little extra time to mack on the checkout girl. What a baller. I was at Aldi this morning. You can't go in without a mas...

I don't guess it matters anymore, but really this belongs in the Vp forum. It is not the PP. No, you're right. It really does. In 2001, the United States' military airdropped 2.4 million Pop-Tarts in Afghanistan during the US invasion.[11] but they had no electricity for the toasters .... No need. ...

Can you link a brother up? Apologies. I'd left the forum after that post. https://youtu.be/lnP2331MqQw I am just amazed at the stupidity of the 'cancel rent' movement. I certainly don't want to see anybody on the street bc they lost their job due to the lockdown. But it is laughable for the city or...

If Krugman had said it, you could back up truck buying LTT. Siegel is at least worth a large trunkful, tho.

Wow, Nielsen says fresh meat prices are up 8.1% from one year ago. Processed meat prices up 12.2%, chicken egg prices up 30.9%, milk prices up 10.3%, and cheese prices up 11.2%. This was based on data for the week ending April 25, 2020. https://twitter.com/nielsen/status/1256599335330091010/photo/1...
