Re: Boglehead topic best watch for $5000

Sunglasses and watches: I buy mine cheap and disposable. My current Timex watch is about 10 years old, still the original battery. When it hits a door jamb and gets scratched or dinged, I go darn, and forget about it. Something like that happening to a Rolex, yikes. Sunglasses, $7.00 aviator style ...

I hope Pug won’t mind if I add a WSJ link. Actually, the link in the OP is from the WSJ.

Fed Adds $63.5 Billion to Financial System in Repo Transaction

Why would I mind?

Take a look into how Pelosi and the Democrats changed the House rules to essentially create a new impeachment process that excludes the minority and avoids transparency. It’s anything but “politics as usual”.
Link?

Re: What if the unicorns die off?

I used to prefer Uber to taxis but they are no longer competitively priced for airport rides in Chicago due to all of the layers of idiotic taxes.

The only thing better about taxis is that the drivers don't feel compelled to make small talk to get a 5 star rating, so I can be left in peace.

It was there earlier. I read it. Something about transitioning from 33/33/33 Stocks/Bonds/REITs to a modified PP.

If there is a smart entrepreneurial enterprise, you can be sure our 'smarter' elected officials who know nothing about business will tax and regulate these enterprises out of profitability or out existence.

Re: Cracks emerging in money markets?

77% repos? That's gone up since I last checked (was about 60%). Crazy. I only wish FDLXX could be used as a sweep account. It's not that hard to keep shifting cash into it though. With the smartphone app I can do it while walking to work, or while stuck in boring meetings. I also have 3 sets of T b...

A French woman I know felt out of place when she lived in the Chicago suburbs because she got dressed up every day and no one seemed to notice. "In France, men look at you," she said. "It brings pleasure. Even women look at you. It's not always positive, but it's an acknowledgement that you exist. ...

I like that the European is shown with bread, wine and cheese.
Not to get off topic but,
How is it that "Europeans eat bread" instead of Atkins and yet are not fat and diabetic? That's why I don't buy into the whole low / no carb thing.

Re: Finding an Account Manager for PP

You might want to look into one of the robo-brokers like Betterment. I think you can select an asset allocation and they will rebalance as needed automatically for you. Not sure on the details. Otherwise, a fee-only financial planner might work.
