Re: Mac Airbook - No or later?

and always install the lastest version of OSX - now Mountain Lion.  Then, about 3 months ago I replaced the harddrive with a SSD drive and a new data cable - WOW! Was it a big issue to put the OS on the new drive? I ask because while I have a Snow Leopard DVD that I could use, I wonder how one woul...

Re: Mac Airbook - No or later?

I also strongly endorse SSD.  I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro 15" (my old eyes like that larger screen) that came with OSX Snow Leopard and 2 GB memory and a 5400 rpm harddrive and the 2.53 GZ processor.  I have since udated with 8 GB memory (I noticed some improvement) followed by a 7200 rpm harddriv...

Re: Thoughts on the nature of rights

Mountaineer, Are you sure you're not CFW Walther or Hermann Sasse?  Seriously, that's a pretty good summary of Lutheran, and Christian, doctrine.  I didn't know there were many Lutherans in West Virginia.  Next time your team comes to play the Longhorns, since we're in the same conference now, you'...

Re: Thoughts on the nature of rights

Doodle, no offense taken.  First a couple of comments.  The Bible has more proof texts (several thousand) and first hand witnesses of the New Testament events than most other ancient texts.  However, the supernatural (e.g. creating the universe, raising someone from the dead) cannot be proven so I'm...

Re: Thoughts on the nature of rights

My thoughts on the nature of rights: In my humble opinion, we all have the right to love God and our neighbor as we love ourselves.  This means I trust God's promises and I care about my neighbors' welfare as much as I do my own.  Unfortunately, the last time this happened was before the curse descr...

Only in his own mind ... ooops, in his mind, he already surpasses all who came before, those who are now, and those who will be.

Re: Would Israel Be Justified In Using A Nuclear Weapon If Attacked With Sarin Gas?

If Israel is attacked by someone using chemical weapons that entity should be obliterated. But not with nukes. There are so many problems here but one that no one seems to be discussing is that the effects nuclear weapons are not limited to where they go boom. Has anyone heard of radioactive fallou...

Re: Pillows

A am a back and side sleeper.  I really like the memory foam pillow I got from Costco a couple of years ago.  I tried a name brand memory foam and did not like it.  ?????  I sleep with the large bump side toward my body and the small bump sise toward the head of the bed.  For whatever that was worth...

Re: Compendium of mushy logic with no limiting principle

Sounds to me like that verbal nothingness might have emanated from an orifice other than the anointed ones mouth.  Not that I don't like fuzzy logic or anything like it some or most of the time in general, unless there are conflicting positions, usually coming from the "others" worldviews in which I...

Libertarian assumption:  Who cares, just leave me alone. My assumption:  We are all simultaneous saints and sinners! Anyone wan...
