PP vs Yield Farming Stablecoin Cryptos?

Would it be crazy to put a significant % of your nest egg in yield farming Stablecoin crytpos (like USDC, USDT, TUSD, Dai, etc) instead of the PP? There are quite a few of these "farms" yielding around 20% or more a year on cryptos that theoretically stay put at $1/coin.

Re: Message From Our Alt-Right Members to the “Moderates”

[ I'm a left libertarian (ok, center-left to be more precise) and I religiously invest in the PP. I don't completely disagree with the principles parroted by those so-called right libertarians since to me, freedom and individualism are my core values but I don't believe in promoting them to the exp...

Re: Message From Our Alt-Right Members to the “Moderates”

This is a great example of what I was speaking of a couple weeks ago, about how this forum is extremely unwelcoming and hostile towards anyone who is not a hard right libertarian. If this forum is a hard right libertarian only forum, and if the PP is a hard right libertarian only portfolio, can the...

How companies profit from "Artificial Complexity"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ07g2NtOiY This video talks about the ways that companies make a ton of money for making simple solutions to problems like sleeping better, losing weight, etc much more complex than they really should be. Although it's not mentioned directly, I feel the PP is a big F...

Re: PP Inspired Leveraged Portfolios

Equal-weight SSO, UGL, and UBT. Since you're foregoing cash, it's technically a 2.66x leveraged PP. I used this from 2014 until like late last month after the VIX jumped over 30 and switched back to the standard PP (SPY, GLD, TLT, and SHY.) I've endured further losses but it would have been much wor...

Re: What would it take to cause you to lose faith in the PP?

If you guys are freaking out over the PP's declines, then imagine how much agony those with equity heavy portfolios are going thru now. Nearly everyone I know who invests or is saving for retirement has way more than 25% in equities, including my retired parents.

Re: What would it take to cause you to lose faith in the PP?

In late 2008, when the stock market was in freefall, it took a month before the LT bonds surged. And it makes sense: a lot of investors were quickly exitting stocks but needed some time to decide where to put that money next. Remember, the money coming out of stocks has to go somewhere eventually (i...

Re: Health insurance

I know an illegal immigrant who suffered a massive heart attack in NYC. He was revived and spent 2 weeks in a fine hospital. After about a month he went back in for another week for a heart valve repair. His bill is probably close to a million dollars but it's not costing him a cent. How can this c...

Re: Gold's Time To Shine?

My perspective is that I'd still rather go with the Canadian health care system than the American one if given a binary choice. Though, obviously, there is bias in my perspective. The waiting time issue is not as bad as portrayed in my humble opinion. We follow a triage system in Canada. If it's a ...

If a Hurricane hits a city already Quarantined due to the Coronavirus, how will it be Evacuated?

Suppose a city that's prone to catastrophic hurricanes is quarantined due to widespread coronavirus cases. Then when hurricane season comes along, a massive hurricane similar to Irma, Katrina, etc is about to directly hit that city, leaving it flooded and uninhabitable. How would it be handled? With...

I had not previously heard of Novamin. Googling it, I found an NIH paper that states that the substance has promise as an anti cavity agent, perhaps superior to fluoride. I assure you that the ADA and or other dental groups are not trying to prevent its use unless they feel it is unsafe for some re...

At the end of my career I could have easily done what was expected of me on my job in 15 hours a week or less. There were actually some weeks in which I spent every minute of my required 40 hours doing absolutely nothing but surfing the web. The biggest challenge was figuring what bullshit to put o...

Konmari Method for Keeping Your House Clean

I've been studying her method and philosophy for tidying your home right now and it sounds great for people who lean towards a minimal lifestyle. I won't go over all of it nor am I an expert in it (and you can google for what the method involves in detail) but here's a gist: - The underlying philoso...

Anyone try toothpaste with Novamin which I hear works even better than the Crest Cavity Protection paste recommended here? I hear it's banned in the US but not illegal per se and you can buy it off of Amazon, though at inflated prices. And one of the reasons it's banned is because it worked so well ...

"Why should ______ continue to go up?" You can substitute many things for PP in that questions..... My belief is that balanced portfolios stand the ...

Not a CFP ?
CFP is fine too and one of the most respectable designations (in addition to CFA and CPA.)  Like the name suggests, it's best for a financial planner or advisor.
