Re: I'm feeling some paralysis about new money

One form of “mental accounting” (kind of like a fallacy) that I engage in is that i find it fairly easy to hold an asset even when I don’t feel like buying more of it. Interesting. Now that you mention it, I can definitely relate to that. It reminds me of buying a car. I get super paranoid about no...

Re: I'm feeling some paralysis about new money

I used to worry about the timing of asset purchases as well, but over time I've come to understand just how little short-term purchase inefficiencies matter in the grand scheme of a long-term portfolio plan.

Pick your ingredients based on the recipe and stop tasting the baking soda.

Re: Tyler's Pinwheel Portfolio

Hi Gull1. Good questions! 1. Tyler says the PW is for someone who "Is uncomfortable with high percentages of unconventional assets found in many modern portfolios" . Can someone explain, in this context, what unconventional assets are? Flipping your question, the four "conventional" assets found in ...

Re: Epstein

And, it will be very interesting indeed to get some firm information about which high profile politicians were on this guy's guest list. 2000 pages of legal documents from a lawsuit by one of his victims were unsealed 24 hours before he died. A brief summary of names named: Giuffre said in several ...

Re: Epstein

Also, a quibble... Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent children. That isn't what's been going on here. These were underage in the sense that we don't consider them mature enough to consent, but they weren't really "children", biologically. I'm not defending any of this awful behavior, but we m...

Re: Epstein

Of course people can conspire. But conspiracies involving high profile murder don't usually remain secrets for long, when they are real. Know the right people and conspiracies don't need to remain secret. Epstein's pedophile ring ran out in the open for decades. This is one of those situations wher...

Re: Epstein

Man, I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but he killed himself? After apparently trying not long ago? Wouldn't he have been on a watch? It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to understand what's going on. You don't even have to think he was murdered rather than killed by his own hand to see the pro...

Re: Forum updates

I assume if I get PM notifications but then there are no new PMs that a spammer has been squashed. Is that right? Yes, sorry. Apparently one of those accounts was PM'ing like there's no tomorrow. Ah -- that explains the deleted PM I also received from someone with zero posts. Thanks for running a t...

Re: color of links in posts

I finally figured out how to fix it on my iPhone.

Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data

Find gyroscopicinvesting on the list, swipe left, and delete. That should do the trick.

Is that better?
Much better. An underline is also pretty standard for links and helps them stand out even more, but the brighter blue is a big improvement even by itself.

Thanks!
