Re: Yay PP!
Until 2 pm Friday . No idea , perhaps a long time ….no one knows. Rising rates stink for all segments of the portfolio and can hit 3 out of 4 parts pretty hard .. Only cash or short term bonds won’t get hit as hard. It can be a white knuckle ride for some followers Or, maybe not just cash https://a...

Re: Anyone investing in farmland?
Yes, I like it and the crops, especially the berries, the farms produce. I have held some of this for about 5 years now as part of my variable portion, and overall it has done well, but it is a microcap so the price does move around

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan
Just came across this: Well, that's something. Very glad you found it. What does it mean? How can we use it? I see that 45% of the deaths were female. Why must the women always suffer the brunt of these catastrophes? So wait, you accept this CDC data as gospel yet all of the prior test/hospitalizat...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan
I now know several people in real life who've tested positive and are at least mildly sick, two of my wife's elderly aunts (both over 75). Both are vaxxed. Almost everyone i hear about third person that are testing positive are vaxxed. I wonder if the vax is lowering immune systems or responsible f...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
Is it a reasonable assumption that if a child is less susceptible to Covid because their immune system is optimal, then they would be less susceptible to side effects or reactions to the vaccine for the same reason? How could that NOT be the case? Optimal? No, just young. But there are theories why...

A PP of VTI, IAU, TLT and SHY returned over 9% between Feb 2020 and May 2021. Max drawdown was -4.55%. What is so bad about that? Yes 100% VTI was up over 24%. But max drawdown was over 21%. Seems to be classic PP use case. And IAU is up 14.30%, with a max daily drawdown of -13.8% The obsessive dail...

Hitch a VP to it of all FAANG, or BC or whatever floats your boat. Choose correctly you make some money. Choose poorly, you end up still having some money. And likely still better off compared to bringing in professional help.

This weeks 8 week bill was filled at $99.9992. FIDO has basically stopped autoroll I think because when you purchase, you are required to click through a bunch of negative yield disclaimers. So I just purchase these weekly with manual entries.. So far, none have actually gone negative.

CDC now reports almost 3 million cases in ages 0-19 . There have been 30,000 hospitalizations in that age group. Though not "common", I would not define that as "extremely rare" either. https://data.cdc.gov/Case-Surveillance/COVID-19-Case-Surveillance-Public-Use-Data/vbim-akqf/d...

You always have to look at it as today and into the future. Looking back at last August doesn't mean anything now. The rate is where it's at today, because half the market thinks it can go up tomorrow and half the market thinks it can go down tomorrow. By "half the market" I mean half of ...
