Re: Safety Deposit Box Insurance

SWP looks interesting. Does anyone know what the FATCA reporting requirements are for an Active Non-Financial Foreign Entity such as this? For individuals, I mean. The business is not required to report to the US government - but individual account holders may have to do so. Good luck getting that ...

$20 gold Liberty coin Heads Up!

Last year I bought a number of $20 Liberty coins at spot then a few weeks ago, turned them in to the Texas Bullion Depository. One of the coins was returned to me because it didn't meet their purity standards. Supposedly some coins minted in the 1800's may not have the correct gold percentage. I got...

Re: Commercial Gold Vaults in USA

Actually, when you look at the language of the law that created the Texas Bullion Depository, the act refers to any "gold depository in Texas." That would include the Texas Bullion Depository which is owned by Texas Precious Metals. "Q: Who owns the Texas Bullion Depository? A: The Texas Bullion De...

Re: Commercial Gold Vaults in USA

I'm aware of the Texas Bullion Depository. I could google this, but thought maybe someone here has done homework and checking on the subject. Are there many other private vaulting companies in the US? I imagine there are some in NYC, probably geared more for institutional customers. Any in midwest,...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

So much for hydroxychloroquine as a COVID treatment, not that this should come as a surprise: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2012410 I am sorry that this drug ended up being used as a political football, resulting in raising a lot of false hopes. Other treatments are perhaps more promi...

I found it hard to believe, also, but the California Nurses' Association website tends to corroborate this report: The California Nurses Association/National Nurses United today called on California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other state officials to sharply escalate steps to get immediately personal pr...

Too late! My bank suspended lobby service! Well... it's safe at least. I'm nowhere close to a rebalance band, years away.
My credit unions closed their lobbies a couple days ago so some of my my PM's are inaccessible. Should have cleaned out the safe deposit boxes last week.

Re: Precious metal coins no longer available

Mom wanted to pick up some gold and I told her to check out JMBullion. She just told me that they were out of almost everything. I went to see for myself and she was right. They look like the toilet paper aisle at Walmart. They've been cleaned out of almost all their inventory and the little left i...

Re: Precious metal coins no longer available

I'm feeling pretty good about that Krugerand I bought yesterday when gold was around 1477. My silver stash... not so much. I know the feeling. I bought a bunch of 10 oz silver bars for spot about 40 days ago. I was bragging to my wife a couple weeks ago about what a great deal I got. Now that purch...

US gold bureau has gold Eagles at normal premiums, or at least that's what they say on their website: https://www.usgoldbureau.com/gold/gold-coins/american-eagle. BTW The Texas Bullion Depository has finally moved into their permanent home in Leander. I made a deposit there last weekend. It's not n...

Just noticed Texas Precious Metals is also out of silver. They are effectively out of business for a while. The CEO, Tarak Saab has posted the following:

Precious metal coins no longer available

I've read the US Mint is completely out of silver eagles. If you can find any silver eagles to buy, online premiums have skyrocketed. Same thing with gold coins. For example, Texas Precious Metals to completely sold out of gold. Absolutely amazing! https://www.texmetals.com/products/gold-coins And y...

Anyone Else Prepping?

I've stocked our cupboards with canned fruit, vegetables, seafood (oysters, clams, salmon, sardines) and canned soup, etc. I'm not worried about stores running out of food - I'm thinking if coronavirus is rampant, it's probably a good idea not to go to the grocery store anymore. I also went to a vet...

Something must have happened to Dr Fuhrman. I remember him being a rather militant vegan. Now he's recommending eating some dairy, fish and red meat?!?!

I guess he's a recovering vegetarian.

No one expects a return to the gold standard... until it happens.
Exactly. I'm sure there isn't a single politician or central banker who wants a return to a gold standard. However, they may not have any other choice. It may well be forced on them.

I think you are all deluding yourselves if you think that if the US government wants to seize or tax your gold that holding it in TX or AU or anywhere else is going to matter. See FACTA. That has worked so well that the Swiss banking cartel basically quit offering US accounts. You also underestimat...
