I SELL equities if the S&P500 loses its 6 month moving average minus a 1% fudge factor, so I'm selling on Friday August 30, if $SPX >= 5246. That's -1.7% away from where we are now.

Re: Best Cash Back Credit Card
If you have 100k in investments you can transfer to Merrill, the 2.625% BodA card is best going for simplicity. Plus you can get a BofA cash rewards card for 3x1.75 = 5.25% back on up to $2500 a quarter ($130/quarter) on a selectable category you can pick/change up to once a month. One category is o...

AAAU was sold to Goldman I think.
When it was no longer backed by the Australian government, I switched to SGOL.

Re: Institutional diversification (Fidelity worries)
I've personally always had the bulk of my money at Fidelity and have had nothing but great experiences with them. To be fair, I've only needed to speak to someone maybe once or twice in the past 10 years. And while I had no wait, perhaps I was lucky or they've changed over time. But I will say that...

Re: Golden Butterfly asset location when retired with RMDs
Of course when we hit 70.5, the tax bills are going to come due. But supposedly all the years of deferral have made it worthwhile. Obviously tax rates can and do change. You probably know this and just forgot when posting, but the new age for RMDs is 72, not 70.5. This changed in either late 2019 o...

Check out https://www.udemy.com/
They have full courses geared toward many certifications for ~$10-20 each.
At that price, hard to pass up just as another resource.

Also remember, you're definitely not holding those LTT for 30 years - is this what you're getting hung up on?
The avg duration in LTT funds have to be maintained, generally it's about 25 years. This means they are constantly selling shorter duration and buying new bonds at prevailing rates.

With most of the cpanel-based web hosting services the admin can create and see all accounts for the domain.
If you point your domain to an email only service that manages it, would be totally up to that platform.

Re: When Harry Met Larry 3 Fund Portfolio
If you want to see one even crazier in Portfolio Charts (see it's Avg Return) try: 60% SCV, 20% LTT, 20% GLD I couldn't really do 60% SCV or 40% LTT though. The actual allocation I settled on and use is somewhat similar and seems to have similar SWR/PWR to the one mentioned above in the thread. Belo...

Any concern on shipping via Fedex or UPS?
I believe their T&C's prohibit bullion/precious metals yet a lot of the online retailers seems to use them vs USPS.

http://www.brevilleusa.com/the-smart-oven-r.html We have an electric range, but barely use it now with one of these. It seems to be more accurate with temperature, has convection and uses less energy since it's more compact. Only time we use the larger oven is something like a large turkey. This eve...

I don't post a lot, but this is one of my favorite forums out there. There are always very good conversations here. I was poking around and found Fidelity Auto Roll: https://www.fidelity.com/fixed-income-bonds/tools/auto-roll-program This would take a bit to setup, but it should work for 1-3 year bills :) Only works with Primary Auctions, no secondaries. What securities are eligible for the program? Only Treasu...

Weighting asset allocations in tax-advantaged accounts
I came across an article on Fairmark that got me thinking about allocations in Roth and TIRA/401k accounts, but Roth especially. http://www.fairmark.com/rothira/bigroth.htm Amount Equivalent to $100 in a Roth Account Tax Bracket Amount 10% $111.11 15% $117.65 25% $133.33 28% $138.89 33% $149.25 35% ...

Thanks for the replies. I will follow up with seeing if I could possibly get add'l Spartan funds or a brokerage window in my wife's 401k, I'm not sure how much traction that would get. It's a pretty large company, so at least to me that would seem like a big deal to get pushed through. I'd be inte...

Thanks for the replies so far. Hmm, I thought there were more Spartan Funds, below are all the Stock options. Together with the 5 Bond options above, that's all the 401k choices other than all the target-date funds. I'm just using the Spartan Funds right now for 90% stock, 10% bond allocation. Sp...
