Re: P2P Lending
Fellow Crawling Road Posters,
IMO, if one sets the right filters, after defaults one should be able to achieve 10-12% annual returns without all the stock market gyrations. I highly encourage you to read this blog if you are interested in P2P lending...

Re: Must Read
And why not take diversification to a new level by diversifying your strategies. That way you get additional non-correlation and are protected in the event one of them fails to work as anticipated. Can you give me an example of a strategy that is uncorrelated with the PP? I'm assuming it would have...

PERM Article by Nusbaum of Street.com
Interesting summary. In my opinion I would prefer this over PRPFX due to lower fees and truer adoption to HB PP

Permanent Portfolio versus Mechanical Timing & Boglehead Buy Hold
As MedTex is aware I decided against the 100 percent adoption of the PP in lieu of including some active strategies such as Hussman, Doubleline, Driehaus, Caldwell & Orkin, etc... Needless to say so far I remain puzzled as to which approach is best. Decency bias obviously suggests the PP is th...

Re: U.S. loses triple-A credit rating from S&P
It is my suspicion that several of you are missing the macro issue here. The downgrade of US sovereign is NOT irrelevant due to the following: 1) It will force S&P to downgrade JP Morgan (as the sovereign stands behind the banking system, you cannot have a bank rated higher than the sovereign),...

Re: June 10 Seeking Alpha Article on PP
Why does PP media chatter make you nervous? Look at PRPFX's asset growth in the last few years. If there is anything PP-related to be nervous about, I would say it is that. What makes me nervous is the adoption of PP by more investors whether PRPFX or do it yourself approach. Before the crisis on...

Re: Differences between GTU and IAU
Read this blog for another insight on GLD, IAU, etc... Personally I am not comfortable owning GLD or IAU and prefer GTU and CEF if you want silver exposure as well

Re: Gold blog

Re: Stocks to Buy & Hold
I am a big believer in thematic investing and one sector I like is solar stocks, specifically Chinese solar stocks such as LDK Solar. The stock has been way oversold and has recently bounced nicely the past 3 sessions however beware as it is extremely volatile. I see this as a 10 bagger over the n...

Morningstar Blog Discussion on PRPFX
I came across this current thread over on the Morningstar column and it appears a few investors are seeking advice on PRPFX and are being misguided. Please join in the discussion and help by articulating your thoughts. Thanks http://socialize.morningstar.com/NewSocialize/forums/p/283064/3051067.as...

529 Plan: West Virginia vs. Ohio? Recommendations Please
This is an update from an earlier port on this subject. After much due diligence, my family has narrowed its 529 college savings options to two plans, the state of Ohio College Advantage Plan or the West Virginia Smart Select Plan? The following is a summary comparing what their "balanced"...
