Of course it would be better for privacy if they didn't have those rules, but there are still advantages to having some assets outside the US even if the government knows all about them. the benefit will probably depend on the fine print in the rules, can you get there and retrieve it before the US...

doesn't the new "we fill out all the paperwork and us government regulations" accounts that just opened up to Americans kinda defeat the whole purpose of Swiss accounts and geographic diversification? i would say it is fake news/click bait from the right and not likely based very heavily on reality.. would google face book etc. want an Orwellian social credit system from a communist dictatorship.. OF COURSE THEY WOULD.. everything else in the article seems like nonsense..

i am guessing a certain percentage of the people leaving is due to their being government workers.. used to having no accountability, passing the buck, and generally working political jobs where the only thing they really do is play politics to lever into the next one, the culture shock for a career...
