Re: TLT cracks $90

Sure feels like we are sliding all the way down! So frustrating. Can’t sell as losses will be locked in. Newly retired and this s*cks!

Re: Yay PP!

“ Adding in a Larry Portfolio twist (shift bond risk over to the stock side i.e. more volatile stock (SCV) and shift LTT into STT) PV” Years ago Clive suggested another Larry twist which I took to heart with one of my PP’s. He suggested using the typical PP as the “bond” portion in the Larry portfol...

Re: Moving personal files to the cloud

If security is top priority, I use Keeper password manager. You can upload files encrypted to store. Does a lot more than passwords. I like and trust it. I use it for things I need most secure. Otherwise iCloud or Dropbox.

Re: The effects of COVID-19 on Dentistry

I think I’m in the f*ck it camp. I too practice in Illinois. If governor extends into June, I’m done.
Insurance is paying less and less while overheads skyrocket. Dentistry is no longer fun nor profitable. Taking my PP and going home! :)

Re: Would you start a PP for a 6 year old?

When my child was age 5 or 6, I set her up Wellesley Fund and 10% gold as Clive and Tex long ago suggested.
I've since switched out the Wellesley for Wellington Fund since she had decades before retirement.

Re: The Left is Eating Itself Pt. II

I think we're reaching a point where the strategy of the far left should start to become apparent to all thinking people. It's defame, destroy, and silence anyone who disagrees with them and truth be damned. It's often referred to as "Cancel Culture". The key words are "thinking peop...

Re: Spreadsheets to Track PP

A quick way to do this would be make a Google Finance Page and put a hypothetical $2500 in each of IAU, SHY, TLT, and VTI. And how do I get a chart from this portfolio? I know nothing about spread sheets. Over the years I've enjoyed checking: https://www.google.com/finance/chart?cht=c&q=tlt,vti...

At the risk of getting flamed, to reverse Type II Diabetes: plant based, whole food, low fat (and no salt no oil for good measure) diet is the way to reverse.
No Processed foods.

There may be more of us than you think. Those who invest in the PP but don't post much if at all.

Re: The Permanent Tooth and Gum Care Regime

CloSys is the only oral rinse I recommend. Protective biofilm is a bunch of hooey. Bottom line, mechanically (floss, brushes, inter-dental simulators) get the biofilm off the teeth and you will have no issues with dental caries nor periodontal disease. Dental disease is an infections. Get rid of the...

Re: Mac Airbook - No or later?

I was one of the posters who recommended the 2011 Macbook Air. Still fast and going strong! Liked it so much I purchased another 13" Air for my daughter for school just last month. Her's is even faster and the battery lasts literally all day. We put MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel on it and she's al...

Re: Gun suggestions

Agreed about revolver. I'd suggest the .357 and a lever rifle in .357 as well. Only need one kind of ammo. And you can use cheaper .38 Special ammo for all that practice you need to do! Might there not be a benefit to have lots of one type of ammo vs a little bit of several? The lever rifle certainl...

Re: Using some of Clive's ideas

As an aside to current thread, another one of Clive's ideas that resonated with me was his idea of a Timber REIT portfolio. Nov 10 2011 made a small VP investment in his idea of 50% TLT the rest split between PCL, RYN, and WY. Up almost 18%. Way better than when I committed to PP earlier this year w...
