Re: Gold will rise when Fed stops raising interest rates?

Thus far it seems obvious that the prevailing economic environment is " tight money" and all the PP assets appear to be performing as HB suggested they would in such an environment... poorly. His suggestion that the "tight money" environment is self limiting and usually shifts to a different enviro...

Re: How to save money not part of your portfolio?

Do most PP'ers calculate their asset allocation, and allocate 25/25/25/25 across ALL of their assets? I.e., should I include my 6 months emergency savings in the bank as part of my cash? Or do most keep this separate? I think most consider their emergency fund to be part of their cash allocation. I...

Re: Are most people here sticking with Treasuries?

Are most people here holding steady with the PP? <- Yes, I am holding steady with the PP. Are a lot of people here who have been doing the PP for a long time getting out of Treasuries? <- No, not getting out. Definitely holding on to LT Treasurys already owned. With recent drop, LTTs now account fo...

Re: Does PP Only Work In Times of Declining Bond Yields?

Seeing some interesting posts scattered about hinting at this, as well as YouTube videos about macroeconomics in general, that are leading me to question whether the PP only works in times of declining interest rates. We've experienced 40 years of declining interest rates, and this started only sho...

Re: Gold storage in Austria

If you're going to store gold overseas, I wouldn't do it in Europe. They aren't as insane as Australia, but they're close. Pick a country that will likely keep some level of protection going forward. That means nothing in the collapsing 'West'. They aren't as insane as Australia . ;D Spot on Pugchi...

Re: Gold storage in Austria

Mark up and storage fees seem like a fair enough deal. My takeaways: This is the Austrian Mint. It appears you must be an EU citizen or permanent resident to open a gold storage account. If you want to sell, the Austrian Mint is not permitted to buy back. Instead you arrange terms and sell to a desi...

Re: Virtual Audit

Is this type of service becoming a trend? I see Money Metals Depository vault in Idaho offers remote viewing service. Per their website: https://www.moneymetals.com/silver-gold-storage "On request, we will schedule a viewing of your holding by video. Your sealed holding will be placed on a table, un...

Re: Which Gold ETF Would You Recommend Now?

Regarding termination events for some popular gold ETFs, it appears some are scheduled to terminate at a future date. According to GLD prospectus, "The Trustee will terminate and liquidate the Trust if one of the following events occurs: ... The maximum period for which the Trust is allowed to exist...

Re: Virtual Audit

Hi dopplerdave, I too thank you for sharing. May I ask some other questions regarding your experience with SWP? I note the Virtual Audit service is available only for the Cayman Islands vault - I presume because SWP is the operator there while different companies operate the other vaults. SWP is con...
