Re: Figuring Out Religion

Well now, that is certainly an 8th commandment (put the best construction on things, per Luther) endorsement. Perhaps if you read Montgomery's bio you might, just might, come to understand that his writing is not at the 6th grade level. Thus the comment about being willing to open your mind. I cann...

You might want to do some reading of JWM, but only if you are willing to open your mind.

Omicron is the Y2K of Covid.
I think we need to start distinguishing between Covid and COVID, the former being the real disease and the latter being, well, those who understand what I'm saying know very well what I'm talking about.

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

I was just reading on FoxNews that after discovering one incident of Omicron only a few days ago there are now cases being reported in many states which they go on to list one by one. If you added all the cases up you could probably come up with a headline something like "Omicron variant cases incre...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

A. The true religion was preserved from Adam till the coming of Christ by the patriarchs, prophets and other holy men whom God appointed and inspired to teach His Will and Revelations to the people, and to remind them of the promised Redeemer. How do you deal with the fact there is no real evidence...

Re: Arbery case

What Scott Adams was saying about the Rittenhouse trial had nothing to do with his own opinion about his guilt or innocence. His comments came out when the jury was taking a lot more time deliberating than people expected even though there was pretty clear video proof of self-defense. I don't know ...

"Psychologically speaking this doesn't surprise me." If this was a psychological reaction, we would have expected that this was happening over the last many centuries. Why would that be a valid expectation? We have no idea what was going on in the last many centuries compared to what is going on to...

Semantics of certainty are probably worth avoiding. Touche. Well, I did call those men "complete idiots" so I guess we're both guilty of that. I'm sticking with my certainty on that however. For the record, I didn't start this thread even thought it appears on the home screen that I was the OP. I t...

What turned out bad for these men had absolutely nothing to do with race-baiting nonsense unless you're paying attention to the side commentary on the media. The legal arguments towards their guilt are actually remarkably clear if you've paid attention to the case, and very, very little attention i...

Going to facts here's the bottom line: Ivermetcin studies range anywhere from it may work to it doesn't work. The jury is still out. Re: Would you wear a mask?

Way too complicated for me. Kind of reminds me of a Jesuit who, in furtherance of his search for a way around the prohibition against masturbation, announced (quite seriously) to his class that abusing oneself "inadvertently" doesn't count. One of the early church fathers, someone named Origen, act...

It's the flagrant narcissism that pushes my buttons, not just on mask wearing, it's more on people choosing on their own to not follow As a Christian, don't you have any problem passing judgment on other people as "flagrant narcissiists"? I think Jesus had a few things to say about that. I know it ...

Re: The Inflation Spike Probably Won't Last

The wars in Afganistan and Vietnam also lasted a lot longer than they were predicting. I'd say the war against inflation could last as long except that I think there is no war against inflation. The only thing it has in common with those wars is that it is deliberate government policy, possibly run ...

Mark, you might also consider a ferratin test, at least every once in a while. Hemochromatosis can sneak up on you. Do they have pre-determined names for variants in alphabetical order like they do hurricanes? If so, we're up to O and there are only 10 left before they start using numbers. Especially the ones with cashback and reward. I use mine wherever they will take it but haven't rolled the balance over in probably 20 years.

Re: Would you wear a mask?

If there was one good thing about the masks, lockdowns, forced closures of "non-essential" businesses, and mandatory vaccines it's that it seems to have reminded a lot of people of the quote from Benjamin Franklin, " “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, d...
