Suppose I link my car to some satoshis. Then what?
Can you link it to just one? What can i do if I have 1 satoshi?

If i find a use for satoshis, can i just buy them and use them on the spot? What is the benefit to having them?

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

It was reported yesterday (sorry, can't remember by whom) that only one in 25 democrats are forgoing the injection, whereas one in four republicans are refusing. If this statistic is anywhere near accurate, it tells me that people are not making a risk assessment as much as they are acting reflexiv...

Re: I think it’s time to move into crypto

Thanks Vincent. Are people then using satoshis to keep a record of ownership of something else? Are you keeping a record of ownership of anything with your satoshis? How many satoshis could a single person use? If there are 100M satoshis in a bitcoin, and 21M bitcoin, my calculations put that at 300...

Re: I think it’s time to move into crypto

My question is, do you still insist that a bitcoin, being just a name for a certain number of satoshis, has no use and doesn't "do" anything? Or can we have some common ground to build our discussion? I am totally up for it V, although it might be at a snails pace. My life is pretty busy and any ti...

If Hitler were alive today he'd be 132 i think. No way he would have survived the horrible pandemic rampaging through the world. Also, i just watched "der untertag" yesterday. Awesome. I like when they appoint Weidling commander of the Berlin garrison instead of shooting him and he says "I'd prefer ...

Re: Buy, Borrow, Die. Legally Never pay Taxes.

Great topic. I have noticed a few people I keep up with mentioned margin loans semi-recently: Tynan and MMM (may all praise and blessings be upon him). And as I mentioned in the other thread, I just finished a good book by Anderson, The Value Of Debt In Building Wealth, that talked about a lot of t...

Re: I think it’s time to move into crypto

Can you name a few? I have never heard of a single practical use for a bitcoin so I'm interested. I think some parallels can be drawn with gold. If gold has a practical use, it's financial value gives incentives to find alternatives. Thank you Vincent and please don't take this as a personal attack...

Very interesting that MI, GA, WI, AZ, and NV all align with Trump states on the vaccine but somehow they went for Biden lol.

The reality is all the states went for Trump including PA so Jim should probably fix his chart.

Bitcoin is also a network so you can code metadata to bitcoin transactions that can have real practical uses.

Re: I think it’s time to move into crypto

I can see that say a Bitcoin has intrinsic value because it takes a lot of energy to produce it. Just as it takes work to produce gold. Cost to produce does not confer value, intrinsic or otherwise. Plenty of things cost more to produce than their value. Business and people that produce them end up...

Re: I think it’s time to move into crypto

I think the definition of fiat money is of an item or record that has no intrinsic value, and is commonly accepted as a means of payment. Crypto has no intrinsic value. Whether it is accepted as a means of payment is definitely debatable. So at this point, it's not even good enough to be called fia...

If you never plan to take delivery DD, would an etf like GLD or SGOL be better since the spread is almost nil? Does your dealer have a storage fee? Why aren't you taking delivery? You are right about the ETF except this is money that I want protected from taxes and/or confiscation. It is in an offs...

I heard they had really dark tans and we're holding the guns sideways, hence no fatalities. The no fatality thing might have changed by now.

They sound like staunch Biden voters.

Re: Best gold deal out there

To my thinking, the spread between buy and sell price from the same dealer at the same time is more important than the premium. For example the (off shore) dealer I use had as of a few days ago a premium of 13.3% and a spread of 10.7% on US Eagles. At the same time the premium was 5.3% and the spre...

Best gold deal out there

https://bullionexchanges.com/1-oz-american-eagle-gold-coin-random-year At 7% over spot, this is the best option i think right now. You can pay 1-3% less with other (less desirable) coins like the maple leaf, Philharmonic, or Britannia, but that's not enough to overcome the eagle's advantages imo. Th...

So if they open up and get a few dozen cases, back into lockdown??? That's my guess. Wait for next November/December when it is virtually guaranteed to happen.
