Re: WiFi Extender?
Metal interferes with wifi. If the device is in a closed panel, presumably metal, it will probably never work. Try it with the door open? Or try a directional antenna and aim it directly at the device.

Re: Dollar Milkshake Brent Johnson throwing nod to Permanent Portfolio
I always figured he took his dollar milkshake theory from Harry Browne. Looks my suspicions were correct. Harry explained in his radio shows that gold is a competing currency to the dollar. When inflation hits, first the dollar goes up. Only with sustained inflation of something that hurts people li...

Re: What polcies can be done to prevent mass shootings
Also abortion has never been regarded by any laws as equivalent to the murder of a child. Yes, if the abortion had not occurred then there would be the resultant birth of a child. However, until that child is officially born then that "child" is not yet a child. What is your basis for tho...

Re: What polcies can be done to prevent mass shootings
I think the profile is fairly well known...social isolation with a grudge of one sort or another seems to be a huge part of it. More complicated than that. This psychologist website author proposes three categories: Despite frequent references in the media to a “profile” of school shooters, there i...

Re: What polcies can be done to prevent mass shootings
Everyone in 1776 knew that a government with a military 100% of the time turns against the population. The United States should not have a standing army. No Army, No Marines, No Navy, No Air force, No National Guard. There should only be the Coast Guard, and state sponsored militias. The military i...

Re: What polcies can be done to prevent mass shootings
I agree, If this is about saving lives, then cars are much more violent than guns. Car violence must be stopped. Perhaps we need common sense speed limits like a national 35mph limit. Create red flag laws and institute universal driving tests. If it prevents one death its worth it. No body needs to ...

Re: What polcies can be done to prevent mass shootings
The second amendment is written in an old style that many don't seem to understand. "A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." "A well regulated Militia being necessary to the secur...

Re: What polcies can be done to prevent mass shootings
The second amendment is clear, there should be no federal laws pertaining to arms, period. Most states also have their version of the 2A. Citizens should be able to buy the same equipment that the military can. 90%+ of active shooters are in "Gun Free Zones". It's pretty obvious they atta...

Re: Gutters advice needed!
Look into getting a french drain installed where those gullies are forming, it will capture the water where it naturally flows and get it away from the house. When they're installed properly they're a water barrier. If you did a french drain and gutters you could connect the gutter downspout to an u...

Re: The Everything Bubble
I don't see it as the everything bubble, I see it as the dollar bubble. Everything can't be in a bubble, there has to be something out of favor. The dollar's reserve status gives an "everything" appearance. My VP is mining stocks betting on God's money, gold and silver, which is where ever...

Re: Libertarians and property
The United States has been using it's military all over the globe to get what it wants essentially. They make and break treaties, push their weight around, bomb people that they might have disagreements with. Why would having private militaries change this aspect of human behavior? We abhor the ide...

Re: Libertarians and property
So wouldn't that single arbiter then in fact have a monopoly on the use of force and be in essence the government? Why would I consent to their decision if it didn't fall in my favor and what consequences would they be able to bring against me if I ignored them? The single arbiter was appointed by ...

Re: Libertarians and property
There is always a single arbiter. Each party consents to the arbiter instead of being forced by the government monopoly. To play devil's advocate, isn't that effectively what we currently have? Granted, we are all born in a country (government) that we didn't voluntarily choose. But thereafter, if ...
