Re: Stock scream room

The stock market is the tail that wags the dog. Wondering how the appearances of new GI forum members and more forum hits relates to the stock market .. Can recall Xan mentioned the hits increased during the worst market days in Feb/Mar. But guess if being any sort of indicator, sadly GI forum woul...

Re: Combining GB with spread trend

The last week or two has been the most difficult market environment to read I've ever seen. True. I moved almost all of my investments to PP till the things calm down and I find more time to dedicate (and that might be months from now..). It's the wisest thing for me. Still one can gain something i...

I'm currently stalking a trade in this area if/when we get down there.
I do not see anything positive yet for TLT. IS04 (in Europe) opened with some -1.5% gap.. Still, it has to fall.. :)

Re: Combining GB with spread trend

A course like this is probably up your alley https://mystrategicforecast.com/lazyeminitrader/. Thanks pm, I have heard this guy previously. Not aware of how good he is in trading (and teaching), though I do not like his obsessive style of "I am nr.1 ", which is fairly often in the trading field, as...

Re: Combining GB with spread trend

I'm not a fan of arbitrary percent based trailing stops. Not a fan of it either, that'why I mentioned that for day trading I normally use a 2 ATR for the beginning, and as see the trend of the trade is losing momentum, then I decrease the slack of the trail. But you are right about one thing - its ...

Re: Combining GB with spread trend

I'm trying to expand my horizons a bit with a new technique Having said that ... Master Pm :D , I was having in my (mid-term) TODO to ask you something.. the right time just came ;D So, it might sound you not quite a wise, but I am relying a lot on trailing stop loss orders those days. Rationale be...

Re: Gold Has Outperformed Stocks Over The Past 20 Years

You want to look for as much proof in as many places as you can. In the technical charting books they call it confluence . The same way as in technical analysis there is no single indicator that can give you the complete confidence (as there is no such thing), so you use a confluence of different i...

Re: Is your pp passing the coronavirus test?

Sometimes I even forget to check what's going on with my PP, its hovering around 4.5% YTD... VP is way more interesting those days (read 'as usual') ;D

Yep, important support levels like $279.13 rarely give way easily.
Its 278.34 now, listening to L'Inverno / Le quattro stagioni (Vivaldi) - that makes the moment even more dramatic ahahah

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

You have a nice discussion here. Making incorrect assumptions from statistically significant evidences is one thing, but trying to make conclusions out of small testing sample set and in such short time frames is completely different thing... As far as I can see there are approx. 10M tests done as o...

Re: Stock scream room

Double top's do not exist until they set a lower low. Yup, I am bit too quick and a bit of looking ahead (which obviously is my mind drawing dragons in the air), indeed crossing of the confirmation line is pending... Have struggled with some reversion trades in the past due to that (entering too ea...
