I live in the EU and my gold fund is 4GLD. Real gold backed, you can actually request conversion to actual physical gold. Are you really sure about that? I know nada about 4GLD however many that claim to be backed by physical and that permit conversion often have criteria/conditions, such as certai...

Re: Bitcoin as a complement or alternative to gold in the PP
When it can do something interesting other than be sold to the next greater fool maybe I'll start caring. I think it can do very interesting things that cannot be done with fiat money. E.g., the fact that no one controls it gives people in countries with an oppressive government the possibility to ...

Looking for suggestions please. I have a Euro PP which contains Euro Large Cap shares (Sanofi, Renault, VInci, Luis Vuitton etc). At the moment the PP is not far off 4x25%, being 29/20/25/26% stocks bonds gold cash. For simplification, I am closing a small account elsewhere, and would like to use t...

Funny that some of you here are proud you never bought bitcoin. Isn't the idea of investing to grow your capital? I bought most of my bitcoin in 2014 and never sold. Happy to be not in the $0 club.

I think bitcoin is pretty binary: or you lose it all or you'll make a huge profit. So my advice is: only use money you are prepared to lose and buy&hold, no cash rebalancing.

How does one turn BTC into dollars without cashing them into some form of currency first and going into an account of some kind? With Gold that you hold physically, as long as cash is still legal... I have implemented a German bond ladder, e.g. this bond is part of it: https://www.deutsche-finanzagentur.de/e ... 001104743/
Yes, I lose money there, as the price moves toward the par value, but as Hal said it is way safer than cash.

Wait- how is digital better than paper again? There is a huge list of things how bitcoin is better than paper (let me know if you are curious how), but it is still very new of course. That's why the UX is still very clumsy. BTW Bitcoin is deflationary by definition, which is a property that can com...

Even Satoshi himself said that Bitcoin would have to be hard forked at some point in order to solve the network's many scaling issues. Well, that was before they found different ways to scale like the Lightning Network. Anyway, Winkelvoss Capital owns so much Bitcoin they can do nothing else but re...

Yeah, awesome article! It answered a couple of questions I had about gold.
In other, but related, news: Paul Tudor Jones Buys Bitcoin as a Hedge Against Inflation, more detail here. Bitcoin was not around when Harry Browne created the PP, but I start to wonder now if adding it is a good idea?
