Re: Next up on the planned crisis list
Mass Shootings seem to be capturing attention. I believe there is something like an average of 10 mass shootings per week in the US. https://www.npr.org/2022/05/15/1099008586/mass-shootings-us-2022-tally-number https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting Back in less propagandistic tim...

Re: Putin Invades Ukraine II
It's tough to get a good read on this stuff because it's pretty clear that we (western audiences) are getting all positive spin about Ukraine and all negative spin about Russia. There are several good open and government sources that do map plots on where forces are at...to get a general sense of t...

Russia likely to have lost third of its Ukraine invasion force, says UK https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/may/15/russia-likely-to-have-lost-third-of-its-ukraine-invasion-force-says-uk How long can Russia keep this up? Re: Where and how do you purchase physical gold?
The only proof coin I bought was pre-pp. if I recall correctly from Harry Browne’s books, Rowland and Lawson’s (Craigr and Medium Tex) book, etc. you’re supposed to buy bullion. Proof coins are more like collectibles, no? My mental calculations - Same exact amount of gold, I got some fractional in ...

The fractional stuff I got from my local coin shop. I got the fraction by buying these from the local shop https://www.jmbullion.com/4-coin-proof-american-gold-eagle-set-vy/ .. The bullion version not the proof version, right? I was buying the proof versions because of "more shininess" - Like I sai...

Re: Where and how do you purchase physical gold?
Personally, if I can get fractional coins for the same premium as 1 oz I go for those. I might, too, but i buy from Apmex and the premium is way higher for fractional there. Do not think its only Apmex that sell fractional at premium, think that's pretty much the case everywhere .. :D The fractiona...

Russia is going to invade Ukraine on Tuesday at 3pm!!! Meanwhile EU countries have not pulled their embassy workers and the President of Ukraine seems very relaxed, while Putin is laughing at the west. "MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has jokingly a...

Re: BTC in the PP
One thing I grapple with is gold gains getting taxed away. I’ve never sold gold. Can’t you just sell a coin for cash from time to time? Not sure what the reporting requirements are at the coin shops. I think its 5k or less does not need to be reported. But, there has to be record of this transactio...

Re: The GOLD scream room
But in all seriousness, it looks like Gold is mostly tracking inversely to a strong dollar. The "market" has decided that inflation is headed down to ~3%. Not that Gold is strongly correlated with inflation anyway. In my investment view, gold has performed great twice in my lifetime: 1. When gold w...

I don’t think gold has a significant industrial demand. It just emerged as a fungible, portable, divisible… commodity that people wanted.

Its Roe v. Wade and inflation now. Next new surge in Covid, next market crash, next the bird flu.
To me it’s not just Dems, it’s both sides which are really the two sides of the same coin (IMHO).

Re: BelangP's book out
I was thinking about a token with real value and the main thing I could come up with is an actual asset that is represents a share of an asset and is redeemable (wheat, rice, or maybe oil). There is the counter party risk which I’m not sure how you get around. To remove the counter party risk I thin...

Back to reality: There are so many stories like this one, describing the brutality of Russia's invasion. Can’t see this. Their financial coverage is way ahead most other sources. And as far as propaganda, I feel like you have to pick your poison or try to inject all the different poisons to neutralize the effects. It seems to be the case that younger people have hugely higher rates of, let's say, alternative sexuality than people from older generations. Doesn't one have to conclude that the difference is a result of all the marketing about how awesome homosexuality is? THIS. Adolescence and teen life can be ...

Zero Hedge has long appeared to be a Russian propaganda source. At best, they're a conspiratorial clickbait site. But for at least 4-5 years, they've consistently echoed RT and other Russian propaganda sites. And of course they're known for their financial doom porn, and more recently their coronav...
