Re: Fidelity direct indexing and small cap value
Hey I didn't know about AVUV, thanks for mentioning! It looks like FISVX (Fidelity's small cap value mutual fund) is lagging it quite significantly, and it gets worse and worse over time. What is everyone's favorite small cap value investment??? After lots of research it seems to be the new consens...

Re: Fidelity direct indexing and small cap value
Good point. For some reason I was thinking it was higher. Definitely worth it at .25 percent.

Re: Bought my ibond allocation
Great minds think alike! That was the main reason I went ahead and purchased them (the day before a higher than expected CPI number!). Lets see what happens in May.

Fidelity direct indexing and small cap value
I've been wanting to buy decent chunk of AVUV. But I really dont want to pay the .6 percent expense ration. I may just buy the top ten stocks in AVUV or CALF and put it into a direct index for 60 / year. Any thoughts on this approach?

Bought my ibond allocation
I was thinking the fixed rate was going to stay at 1.3% but I bought them the day before the hot CPI number came in. Lets see what the fixed rate gets set on May 1.

Tyler does it again! Safe Withdrawal Rates
Apologies if this has been discussed already. I just read a fantastic post by Tyler regarding safe withdrawal rates / ulcer indexes.

I love financial media. Its so entertaining and so wildly uncorrelated with reality. I will be a buyer again at five percent.

Re: This is the best time in 45 years to invest in the Permanent Portfolio
Can you remind me what the cashless PP is? Stocks, Gold, LTTs? Also how are you measuring the value? I am currently seeing an everything bubble inflate (Stocks, Gold). But I guess LTTs are getting cheaper and small cap value is still a bit stagnant. So maybe not an everything bubble.

Re: Just made a purchase at 5.088 for 30 year LTTs
I actually made the purchase because I am in the building a balast phase of investing, for my VP (GOLD, SCV, LTT) AND rebalance my Golden Butterfly Frankenstein. I was thinking if I could live with the yield if if rates went higher and 5.088 percent. And I could. Its good income, regardless of what ...

Re: AI to the moon
I think AI may make simple tasks more complex and frustrating and increase productivity at the same time. It has saved coding time for me and pointed me in the right direction for technical tasks. Current simple task: Walk into a museum in London. “It’s free but you need to download the app and get ...

Re: Putin Invades Ukraine II
Remember the breathless reports of Putin battling cancer in 2022? IMHO the “news” is just noise and I also feel that many official statements are possibly slightly truthy propoganda. Maybe Germany needs a war to boost their economy after their greatest ally blew up the Nordstream pipeline and plunge...

Here is another interesting option I have considered. It is Monetary Metals based in Arizona. They loan your gold out and you get interest in gold back.

Its pretty funny watching the Davos class lose their minds over this interview. TC is traitor! Ban him from the EU! etc, etc... All for...an interview. These people are desperately trying to hold on to credibility and power. I believe Boris Johnson called for some kind of sanctions or something like...

Re: What’s The Best Metals To Buy Into ATM?
The early retirement exteme forum asks some pretty cryptic questions to join the forum. They asked what the "g" in the gcc podcast stand for. Took a while but I figured it out. Maybe ask what does the second "P" in HBPP stand for. Or what does the B in the GB portfolio stand for?

Re: Gold Avenue (an overseas storage option in Switzerland)
I would love a good allocated storage solution that is low cost storage, low premiums, safe, easy, etc, etc... Its interesting. I think a few states are discussing building repositories and some type of legislation making buillion sound money. I think that would be fantastic. Gold is like an apex pr...
