Re: Putin Invades Ukraine II
Very sad to watch Zelensky blow it so badly. IMHO He should resign so the war can end. Also Trump was skillfully handling Zelensky’s foolishness. Then Vance caused a serious problem. Vance is a young inexperienced guy who should have stayed quiet. If he had the deal would have closed. Intentional/b...

Great Idea by Judy Shelton - Gold Bond
Treasury bond that pays you back, in dollars, the gold price after a certain number of years. Tie borrowing to gold without having to have convert to gold.

Excellent Interview with Larry [Swedroe]
He goes through many of the behavioral biases that cause people to underperform. Also he pretty much nails why its so hard to sell a winner and buy a loser (IE rebalance).

Golden Butterfly in my 401k and basic stock in taxable that is slowly backing into gold, treasuries, small cap value. But still mostly stocks. I also would not do cash in the 401k in hindsight. What it is was an aburdly transparent creation of a virus in a lab that was funded by a convoluted chain of US funding because this type of virus development is possibly the most dangerous technology on the planet and I believe is not legal.

Re: Good experience selling to JM Bullion
Very helpful thread. I’ve heard there is no reporting requirements when you sell under a certain amount to a local coin shop. Is that true? And if so is it also true for large dealers like Apmex and jmbullion. Incidentally I just purchased from jmbullion for the first time. Good experience.

I believe ownership of stocks was previously private property and it has been changed. Your broker historical has been a custodian of your stocks. But now they are something else.

The Great Taking. We don’t really own our stocks
https://youtu.be/dk3AVceraTI?si=K7A9ytWrvCr4Ta7U Basically I believe the gist of it is a broker use your stocks as collateral when they are doing financial “things”. If they can’t pay the money they borrowed back your stock is going to the creditor. I believe it’s article 8 of the uniform civil code.

Re: Putin Invades Ukraine II
You may be right about the Russian settlement of that region but I have heard he only sent a small portion of his army to fight. Something like five or ten percent. That does not sound like he was trying to conquer Ukraine. Regardless of that, he may be successful based on the negotiated outcome. A ...

Re: Putin Invades Ukraine II
I think the probabilities of a war are what can be more determined. There is a .01 percent chance I will fall off a cliff if I am in the middle of the desert. 5 percent if I am near a cliff. 80 percent if I am standing next to a cliff besides a crazy person. 70 percent chance of getting run over by ...

Many trusted the US, adopted the dollar as a primary trade settlement currency in place of gold and accepted it exporting inflation to help fund a massive military might for collective defense - but now see the light (trust and support was mispl...

Re: Putin Invades Ukraine II
Sorry I can’t help but be sarcastic here. We (the American public) are going to feel great about saving Ukraine when the war ends. And the US and possibly Russia are going to go in and pillage Ukraine’s natural resources as the price for peace and Ukraine will not be in NATO and they are going to l...

“The Unix Programming Environment” by Kernighan and Pike literally changed my life. Hi Everyone, Just a side note — I was surfing wikipedia yesterday, starting at SMS and eventually I ended up at Bell Labs and its once upon a time operating system, Plan 9. Lo and behold, the mascot, Glenda, is Burley’s avatar! 👍 Oh man a Plan 9 reference! As a Unix nerd I just came across that whe...
