Re: Yay PP!

I would think most here do look daily ..it is simply because they have an interest in it enough to be here . They are also using the pp because they are gun shy so I would think they look. People in forums tend to be active I never look. I'd not know anything was going on unless I read something he...

Re: What's going on with silver?

I don’t know if it’s a glitch or what, but ‘Empire of Silver’ by Jin Xu is under US$3 at amazon right now. Not just the kindle, but even the hardcover. https://smile.amazon.com/Empire-Silver-Monetary-History-China/dp/0300250045/ Probably part of some strategy. I get a daily email of many books that...

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

Taleb's dictatorship of the minority is a fascinating treatise. I see it everywhere after having read it. On, the masks at work thing, I wonder if it will finally end when enough people have proven anti-bodies (or a vaccine). I got a test for anti-bodies last week, just for the hell of it, but no l...

Re: Is the PP Meant for Alt Right Extremists Only?

You may be interested in the book by Nicholas Nassim Taleb called “Skin In The Game”. It’s about the expert class and how to decide who to trust. Almost finished reading it. Which is why I've done a search here on what has been said about Taleb. Read two of his other books - Fragility & Black Swan.

Re: BTC in the PP

Not sure it was posted earlier here, a work from Nassim Taleb named "Bitcoin, Currencies, and Fragility" Even though I can't clearly understand all of his statements, its a good food for thought. Well he's a lot smarter than I am. It's a very interesting read. It's worthwhile to at least read the I...

Italy just revised its numbers from the appx. 600k that died WITH COVID, to appx. 3k that died OF COVID. The FDA now thinks it's prudent to delay release of the data from the PFE Mrna Vaccine to 75yrs because, well... nothing to hide here, eh. Follow the money Folks. Finally, and I'm the fuck outta...

Re: I Bonds for Permanent Portfolio

Thanks for this. Any idea why they came in 12 separate bonds in 12 separate envelopes? Is that normal? Don't know about the 12 envelopes but Bogleheads often post about getting a bunch of smaller bonds. ALSO, if you are going to delay converting these to electronic bonds, make sure you write down a...

FINALLY asking an at about six month old question regarding iBonds. I filed my 2020 tax return on May 15, 2021. I realized the mistake(s) I'd made on my 2019 so that instead of my $5,000 refund going toward purchasing iBonds it was sent to me as a refund. I thought that I had done all correctly on ...

Re: Netflix junkie

I'm watching They Live on Netflix currently. This movie is older than I am! The premise seems really interesting though. That the one with the actress with the red hair and green eyes? Yup! Striking! Exact same word I'd use to describe her eyes in that movie! I saw the movie at the theater when it ...

Re: Some concerns about crypto (In General)

Several months ago there was a discussion here regarding what is money. Here is the start of that discussion in this book: The Nature of Money   To understand the scale of the change ahead, let's answer this question: what is money?   In essence, money is trust. It is a societal construct. It is a s...

Re: Wages (e.g) at McDonalds

Not to get too off topic, but the same is going to happen with EVs. My Tesla burns no fossil fuels, but tires need to be replaced twice as often . How is that good for the environment? And then there's those pesky batteries.... Even more off topic... why do the tires on a Tesla need to be replaced ...
