Re: Bought my ibond allocation

A few days ago I did receive my $5,000 in iBonds purchased from my tax return e-filed on April 14, 2024. This time it was only one $5,000 bond. In the past there have been several to many bonds in different denominations to compose the $5,000. It was dated April 29, 2024. That means I got it under t...

Re: This is the best time in 45 years to invest in the Permanent Portfolio

depends on the bond funds held and their duration as far as how bad they would get hit. a leveraged risk parity portfolio performed very differently in the 2022 down turn as well .. it had better returns , lower risk , less draw down then the pp did. i posted the carolina reaper results above which...

Re: Bought my ibond allocation

I submitted my tax return on Sunday with a $5,000 purchase for iBonds. So far it's only worked half the times. 2 times they have been bought. The other two times they've refunded my $5,000. With this year's return I tried a new tactic. In addition to having $5,000 of my refund being allocated to bu...

But I assume a passive squire would not get very far.
You are saying that type of squire would maintain a permanent status?

iCloud assistance!

Need assistance from one or more of you Apple users! I actually own Apple everything (but old) except for their computers. I have been using an iPad 1 to keep score of my softball games since at least around 2015. Have many seasons / many teams in the app. I have iCloud Backup turned on. A short whi...

Re: New interview with Craig Rowland

Happy to see Craig pop in. One important point is that both Craig and Harry Browne generated wealth from their businesses and then (IMHO) used the PP to preserve it, grow it at a reasonable amount above inflation, limit drawdowns while keeping things simple. Personally, I do not see the PP generati...

The missus and I are going to an amusement park tonight for roller coasters, cotton candy, and the usual fare. It's been years since I've been on a roller coaster... my mind will probably be making all kinds of analogies about the market being a roller coaster. Last time I was on a roller coaster i...

An outage here from last night until just a short while ago? A bot has been hammering the site. The web server spun up so many instances that the machine ran out of RAM, and the kernel killed the database in response. Without the database nothing works. P.S. I probably mentioned it before: I feel antsy when I read in the policy that they don't cover 'mysterious disappearance.' However, I understand that they have to do this: what if one spouse empties a box without the other's knowledge? What does not constitute "mysterious disappearance"...

Re: Fidelity direct indexing and small cap value

Hey I didn't know about AVUV, thanks for mentioning! It looks like FISVX (Fidelity's small cap value mutual fund) is lagging it quite significantly, and it gets worse and worse over time. What is everyone's favorite small cap value investment??? After lots of research it seems to be the new consens...

The caption to the picture made reference to a mouse but I'm convinced it was one of my beloved gerbils.
