Re: The left should resist the siren song of ‘modern monetary theory’
MMT would probably not be discussed so frequently if it wasn't for the amount of debt accumulation the country has seemingly survived without any apparent damage to the system. I agree with others that such talk is a great indicator for gold futures.

+1
I also have extra exposure to equities. My equity exposure is 30% US 30% ROW (including emerging markets). The remaining 40% is divided equally between Gold, LTT, and STT.
I am very comfortable with this tilt toward equities and international stock exposure.

I have all of my 401k in a GB style portfolio, except I use the Paul Merriman index fund allocation, which is worldwide instead of just US.

I have been following NSNG f(No Sugar, No Grain) for almost a year. I have found it to be very filling, I'm almost never hungry, and I stay thin.

Re: Investing new money now
I invest the stock portion of my portfolio along the lines of Paul Merriman's suggestions - worldwide diversity in large, small and value. That seems to help me buy in all market conditions because I'm not focused solely on US investments. I understand this not a pure HB approach, but it works for me.
